This was the day. The hooded figure sat still with his hands behind his back. The rope looks firm but at a closer glance the ropes are burned. Head down he waits. SLAP!

"Oi, lover boy you finally dead. Never seen a more stubborn person so desperate to be alive."

Anger boils over, consuming him, he frees his hands and he grabs the acid he burned the roped with.

He throws it on the opposition. Screams of agony ring loud, screams that were not his. Screams of agony that were like a deep breath for him. He kicks the metal door open and runs out into the dark shadowed alleyways, which has been his designed as his personal hell for so long. He keeps running ,until he is conceled by the shadows of the night. He is free.

.................

" Here you go. Your tea." Aisha says, handing me a cup. I break away my gaze from the window as she settles down on the couch next to me.

" So have you thought about what are you going to say to Zunair? " she asks me.

" I can't say yes to him and become his wife it would not be fair. I can't give him what I don't have. I can't give him the love he deserves because that love was only for Hamid. But I can't say no to him, specifically after he helped me settle down, start my own law firm.

Even when I had our daughter;  mine and Hamid's he was their to support me. He lives right next to me, helps with Aiza. Seriously Aisha I don't know what to do. " I explain to Aisha.

" Aiza needs a man in her life and you know that. Zunair has become a part of her life, she plays with him and he gets her presents and things out of reach. He will do anything for her, remember when she had a fever he refused to leave her side." Aisha tries to reason with me.

I do know that Zunair has changed. I can't believe it. He has been my brick wall. After Hamid I had never thought that  I would be secure ever again ,but thanks to Allah SWT for giving me such a great friend like Zunair who has been with me through tick and thin.

"I know you are right, but I can't to that to Hamid. I can never let him go. Plus there is Danish who also cares deeply about me. He called me every day but since two days he has not called.  I am getting really worried. " I tell her.

" Liybha,  Danish is a nice guy but he can't support you like Zunair. Don't worry about Danish he is most likely fine and probably lost his phone. But you have to create a safe shield for Aiza and that can only happen with Zunair. You are so lucky Liybha you have so many people who love but you need to accept that love. " She tries to reason with me.

"At night Aiza would not go to sleep without saying goodnight to Hamid.  Our picture, the one in Paris she always says goodnight to it. But when I told her the picture is not here, she made me take out his picture from my phone and then only after kissing it goodnight did she sleep." I say to her, holding back my tears.

" See this is what I mean, you have spoiled her. You can't keep her in the past forever. If you marry Zunair there will be a chance to move forward. " Aisha suggests.

I need to clear my head, rethink things through and there is only one place where I can do this.

I quickly finish my tea, ignoring the slight sting of burn on my tongue.

" I need to go somewhere, please look after Aiza." I tell her straightening up my clothes.

" Sure. Are you going to the

cemetery? "She asks me, knowing that it is the only place I find peace.

" Yes I am. " I say to her, rushing out of the room. I head upstairs to grab my scarf and handbag.

Comming back down I go into the play room to say bye to Aiza.

" Mammi! Luk what I med" she excites, comming over to show me a strange shape she had made with colourfull lego blocks.

" Wow. It's really beautiful. But Mummy has to go somewhere so please be on your best behavior. " I tell her, giving her a good long squeeze and kiss.

" Oki, Mammi." She tells me, with a innocent smile and those deep green eyes of Hamid.

I head out quickly, trying to consume the tears until I reach the destination, where I can let everything go free.
