ISABELLE'S POV

After my step dad's funeral, I laid on my bed laughing at my boyfriend's attempt to cheer me up.

Ever since we got home, and hour ago, I had been on the phone with Adam Banes. He wasn't just my boyfriend, he was also my bestfriend. And no one, not even my own mother, knew me as well as Adam does.

But just then, before either of us could say anything else, I heard my Aunt Lucy call for a family meeting.

"I gotta go Ad. Family meeting."

"Okay, babe. Just text me when they're done with you."

"Okay. I love you."
I tossed my phone down on
"Love you too." He said and hung up. I tossed my phone down and the bed and started heading downstairs.

-------
By the time I got downstair, there was only one chair left. And old wicker rocking chair that belonged to my grandmother. I went to sit in it.

"Alright. Marie, are you ready to tell them?"

"Yeah, Lu." Mom began. "Alright, kids. You're aunt and I were talking and we decided that it would be in all of our best interest to get a fresh start. So we will be moving in with her on August 1st."

"What?!? Mom, no!!!" I interrupted her. I'm sick and fucking tired of moving. I refuse to pack up and move again!"

"Isabelle..." Marie began, but I got up and stormed out of the room.

"It's okay, Marie. Give her time. She just needs some time to calm down and process everything. I'll talk to her before dinner." Lucy said.

---------

I laid on my bed reading a book when I heard a knock on my door.

"Go the fuck away."

"Don't fucking talk to me like that, little girl! Open the damn door.” Aunt Lucy said through the door.

"Why?"

"Because I need to talk to you."

"Just you?"

"Yes."

"Okay. Come in," I said and didn't move as my door opened. "What do you want?"

"Bells, I understand you're upset. But don't be so harsh on your mom. She's trying to be the best mom she can be for every single one of you kids. It's not easy being pregnant and being a single mom of seven kid--"

"How would you know? You can't have kids." I said, interrupting her.

"Stop! Why are you being such a bitch right now?"

"Do you have a point?"

"Nevermind. I'm done with you."

"Bye bitch," I said under my breath.
