The Tainted Rose

Chapter twenty two

We live our lives telling ourselves that we are capable of doing things, but when the time comes we start questioning if we really can. Is not that we don't want to, but what if we fail or we end up doing something wrong?

"Turn left here Aiden!" Stephanie ordered me.

I turned as fast as I could, making the car drift a little and starting to go up the road.

"The cabin is just ahead and I know they are going to be there."

I sat in complete silence as we approached the cabin which was starting to appear before our eyes. I stopped the car a little far from the house so they wouldn't hear me, I opened the trunk of my car and went to get something from there.

"Why are we stopping here Aiden and what are you looking for back there?"

Without answering her I took out of the trunk a little box and opened it. I took my Cold Steel OSS, which was a knife I had bought a couple of months back before I started school. The Cold Steel OSS was a combat knife with a drop point blade style, and a blade that measured 8.25 inches making a total of 13.45 inches counting the grip.

"Aiden what is that for?" she seemed scared of me.

"Stay here Stephanie I'm going to get Ashley back."

"Aiden do not do what you are thinking of doing let's call the cops and get them here."

"I'm sorry Stephanie, but who knows what they are doing to her right now, I need to get in there."

"Then I'm coming with."

"Fine, I don't have time to waste." I replied annoyed.

We made our way to the cabin which was huge by the way. We tried entering by the side entrance but it was locked, I tried forcing it but it wouldn't budge. It was then that I remembered that I was carrying the bottle of my "little experiment". I opened it and poured it on the lock.

"What is that?"

"Something that will get us inside this mansion."

The acid burned through the lock quickly and I swung the door open. We entered as silently as possible and made our way through the house. We were sneaking through the kitchen when we heard someone coming and we hid behind he counter that was on the center of the kitchen. As the person was passing beside me I jumped and put the knife on her throat. She was scared but couldn't scream since I had my hand on her mouth.

"Alex, you are going to tell me right now where Ashley is or I swear I'm going to kill you as slowly as possible." I could feel her taking short breaths. Slowly I took my hand off her mouth and she answered, "She is in the back woods with Yoana, Evan, and Damien; they are going to kill her and burry her so no one finds her."

Stephanie opened her eyes wide after hearing that but was left in shock when she saw I immediately slit her throat without a second thought. We left as a pool of blood formed around Alex's head. As we headed through the back woods we noticed someone standing over a body and I hauled over there to see if it was Ashley. I was getting close to the body, but still I couldn't make out who it was, it was so dark outside that I couldn't see very much.

"Aiden is that?" Stephanie put her right hand on her mouth and stood there shocked at the sight of Rose trying to hide Jaylen's dead body.

Why would they kill Jaylen? He was helping him, well I don't care, he got what he deserved.

"Don't move Steph" I motioned her to stay put as I closed on Rose.

Keeping myself hidden behind the trees and bushes, I approached her.
