Chapter seventeen

Sometimes the people that you least expect turn out to be the ones who will help you.

I was in my car plotting how I was going to do everything when all of the sudden Damien's jeep flew past me.

Where was he going and why was he in such a hurry? That bastard was going to pay for everything and I had run out of patience, that meant that it was going to happen pretty soon.

Damn I'm going to be late to class if I don't hurry up inside. I entered history and through out the entire class I started my big scheme. I was almost ready to put it in action. When the period ended I was stopped on my tracks by James who asked me for Ashley.

"Hey not to intrude or anything, but did you and Ashley talked? Because she seemed very desperate to find you earlier."

"Ashley? No, I haven't seen her since this morning. When was she looking for me?"

"Just before my class started she came looking for you and I told her to check for you in the parking because I had seen you walking in that direction."

"Well you were right, I was in my car, but she never came looking for me" I elevated my shoulders and let them fall expressing my confusion.

As I expressed my confusion, Stephanie walked through the door and she seemed exhausted like she had been running.

"Profesor" she was panting heavily.

"What happen Stephanie? Something Wrong"

"Can I take Aiden out of your hands?"

"By all means we were finishing up anyways." He turned to face me "You should find Ashley because I think she had something important to tell you."

Stephanie ran to my side, took my hand and pulled me out of the school.

"What is it that you need Stephanie?" I asked annoyed.

"Look do not get picky right now because we don't have much time. I never liked Damien and his crew, I hated how he treated everyone."

"Oh yeah? Then how come you never stopped him?"

"I already told you we don't have much time so listen to me"

"Much time for what? What do you want?"

"Shut the hell up Aiden I'm trying to talk! Look I hung with them because I wanted to dig some dirt on Damien's father. When I was little, he falsely accused my father of stealing money from him. In the beginning, my father owned the entire office for which Damien's father worked, but because Damien's father wanted more power he tried to buy the company from my father. When my father refused, he accused my father of stealing from him. They went to the court and the case lasted only half a day. Do you know how wrong that is? My father didn't have the opportunity to defend himself, the judge heard Damien's father lie for quite some time and when it was my father's turn to defend himself, the lawyer representing him Talked for five minutes and then stated that my father wanted to plead guilty. I know my father and first of all we had everything so there was no reason for him to steal from someone who was below him and my father taught me yo always go down fighting. I don't know all the details, but I know that he was blackmailed to throw the case. Now I don't know if you believe me, but all this time I was with them only to get dirt on his father and proof my father's innocence. The thing is that after the first period, we all gathered together in the hallway because Damien told us he needed help with something. He started saying that he hated Ashley for rejecting him a year ago and making a fool out of him, he wanted to humiliate her. That's when he told everyone that he needed our help kidnapping her. He wanted to make her suffer and he was going to do it today at lunch, I didn't believe him, but I haven't seen any of them since then and Ashley is missing too."

"This is not true right? You are only trying to scare me because Damien put you up to this right?"

"Aiden I'm not lying, I haven't seen them and Damien's jeep is not in the parking lot."

"Now that you mention it I saw his jeep leaving at lunch and it was going really fast. Does that mean that you really are telling me the truth? Stephanie, what is he going to do to her?"

"I don't know anymore, what I have told you is all I know."

"Do you at least know where they are?"

"No I don't, but I know how we can figure it out. I need you to take me to see Damien's father"

"Why? What is he going to do to help us? He is an ass."

"I know! Didn't I just tell you how he ruined my life? But all this time I've been playing them he always wanted Damien to be with me so he trusts me because he doesn't know who I really am. Take me to him and I'll talk to him."

"Fine, but when we find Damien I'm going to kill him."

"Yeah" she laughed at my comment, "I wish I could too."

"I'm not kidding and you better not try to stop me"

"Her expression changed entirely as she observed me."

I drove as fast as I could to where Stephanie told me and when we got there she ran inside.
