Book One Chapter Six: Imprisonned

Days have passed since Kyoshi Island and you visited Omashu, Katara, Aang and Sokka told you how the crazy King of Omashu gave three task to Aang so that they can be freed after destroying half of the city on their play ride. While you and Appa stayed out of the city, you've had enough of big cities while you were the 'General's daughter'. So you volunteered to keep Appa company. While Aang was on his three tasks you were enjoying Appa's warm fur and even braided some of his hairs on his tail.

The thing is your mind kept going on Zuko and how you broke down in the middle of a fight. Those sleepless nights and non-stop travelling slowly got to you and you missed the comfort of your home. If it was still yours today, you didn't think of the after of this mission. What will happen after Aang masters the 4 elements and if the war ends, what's next?

You stayed silent and distant after you left Omashu and Sokka noticed that you weren't making any comments when he devoured meat next to you. It worried him and he knew something was off with you.

When Katara noticed that we were running low on supplies she decided to make a stop in a forest of tall trees and rivers. "Wanna go hunting with me y/n?"
Sokka asked while putting his boomerang on his back, you simply nodded and followed him. When you were meters away from Katara and Aang all that was heard were your footsteps on the dry leaves and momo's hissing at birds.

"Is everything okay y/n? You have been very silent lately." Sokka reached to a dry branch few feet above his head, there were a few nuts and berries at the end of the branch, he stood on his toes and picked some.
"I don't know, i've been thinking a lot."
"About what?"
"Stuff."
"What stuff?" He passed you a single berry and looked at you with insistance. "I... I'm your friend right? You can tell me anything y/n."
Momo flew and landed on Sokka's shoulder and stole the berry he was passing to you. "Heeey!"

You chuckled at Sokka's reaction and Momo seemed to mock him too, you petted Momo's ears and your lips curled into a faint smile.

"It's been days since you smiled y/n." He moved a strand of your hair behind your ear and looked into your eyes. His hand fell slowly onto your skin and he stroke his thumb on your jawline, you stared into his blue eyes and found an infinite depth inside them. They reminded you of the ocean and you were lost in them, but, it didn't feel right. Why?

Sokka was leaning in and closed his eyes, his eyelashes touched the top of his cheeks and he cupped your cheek with his right hand.

You froze the moment your lips touched, your eyes wide open in shock, mind fogged and face burning. It was a brief but tender kiss, he pressed his lips onto yours for at least 10 seconds but these seconds felt like 10 hours has passed. It felt like losing the concept of time for a moment and you two were just hanging there in a void surrounded by blurred lights and dull sounds.

You looked at Sokka, and his expression changed. You took a step back and took a breath in. "I-"

"Don't say anything. I shouldn't have done that, I am sorry." He said it so steadily and confidently, but there wasn't an ounce of regret in his tone.

But yet,
In the past few days that have passed. This was the only moment where you felt like a normal teenager. Like those girls you saw when patrolling in the Fire Nation's capital, always late and on their way to school gossiping about cute boys.

You stepped closer to Sokka and looked into his eyes, 'Will i regret this?'.
You grabbed him by the collar and pressed your lips against his. He placed his hands on your waist and kissed you tenderly, your lips moved harmoniously and you pressed your body against Sokka growing more and more hungry.
He parted his mouth and slid his tongue into yours, while pressing your waist down, his tongue dominating yours as you felt a familiar feeling crawling in your stomach.
