"Thanks Chief" Aiden smiled before grabbing her bag and heading out, it was late and shift just ended. They had about three more calls after the toxic school science experiment. The calls were only minor though, small fires and a minor car accident.

She climbed into her car and drove home, the whole way she was thinking about the way she talked to Nancy and what she said. She pulled into her drive and climbed out. Her house was small, but it was nice, her parents were stacked because of a business they had before they... passed. She inherited most of the money, but other family members managed to get their hands on it. They rather had the money than her. It was basically what landed her in the system.

She unlocked the door and tossed her keys down on the counter, she walked to the kitchen and grabbed a beer bottle from it. Walking to the living room and switching on the TV to the news.

She took a sip of her beer and pulled out her phone, she barely sleeps. It's like checking the time on her phone every now and then will make the time go faster and then she'll be back into a burning building. But it doesn't, it feels like time is barely ticking and barely going any faster.

There was a sudden knock at her door, she jumped slightly and threw her phone on the couch before heading to the door. She opened it to reveal a blond girl standing there.

Her wavy blond hair flipped onto one side, her blue eyes full of worry and almost fear. She wore a white shirt and blue skinny jeans with brown boots.

"Nancy...? What are you doing at my house?" she asked and leaned against the door frame with her arms folded.

Nancy breathed in deeply and took a second to admire the woman in front of her, she was wearing black ripped jeans with black and white sneakers, she had a grey vest on and a leather jacket. Her hair was tied in a bun with small curly hairs dangling down her face.

"I... I am so, so sorry. And I know you probably don't want to talk to me. But I have been so selfish and so cruel, you did something, and it scared me. But..." she paused and looked at Aiden who had a smirk on her face.

"I think I want you to do it again" she smiled as Aiden cupped her face in her hands and pulled her into her lips. Aiden had waited so long to do this and now it was finally happening she felt this relief finally lift and leave her.

Nancy smiled against the kiss as they both stopped to stare at each other, "Wow" Nancy grinned before pulled her back into her lips and wrapping her arms around her neck.

Aiden pulled her inside and lifted her up gently, Nancy laughed and wrapped her legs around her waist as the door slammed shut.

Aiden woke up first. She slept. She had actually slept for the first time in years, she looked down. Nancy lay on her chest as her head lifted every time she breathed.

She smiled down at the girl and wrapped her arms around her tighter as Nancy woke up gently, "You do realize in order for me to live I need to breathe" she mumbled into her stomach before sitting up.

"Shift starts soon" Aiden said in a croaky voice.

"Mm... no" she said innocently and laid back down on top of her.

"Gah... yes. As much as I'd love to lay here with you, we have a job and that job is to save peoples lives... in forty-two minutes" she checked the time on her alarm.

Aiden groaned but sat up and rolled the girl off of her, kissing her quickly before jumping out of bed and grabbing her things and throwing Nancy's clothes at her.

"I'll make breakfast" Aiden grinned and pulled up her jeans and threw her shirt over her head.

She walked into the kitchen and started to make pancakes, she heard light footsteps behind her but didn't turn around. She felt two arms wrapped around her middle and she stopped mixing all the ingredients together.

"We need to get moving, unlike you I live a decent way away from the Fire House" she wriggled out of her arms.

"Okay, okay... fine" Nancy rolled her eyes and kissed her on the cheek before sitting at the counter and getting her boots on.

"Are you... are you seeing what I'm seeing?" Mills asked Tripp and Skelton who were also standing next to her as they watched Captain and Owens walk in together laughing and smiling.

"I see our Captain and Newbie Owens laughing and walking in the building together" Rosen spoke up as she walked towards them.

"Dude, last shift they were at each other's throat. Something went down between them and by down I mean something went... down..." Skelton laughed just as O'Connor and Owens walked inside.

"Hey" O'Connor shoved a hand in her leather jacket and took a sip of her coffee with the other.

"Hello Captain..." Tripp said in a flirtatious voice as all four of them grinned widely and Rosen sneakily budged him in the shoulder.

"Okay, then" O'Connor smiled and walked away with Nancy trailing behind her.

"They..." Mills started.

"Had..." Skelton smiled.

"A jolly good time" Rosen finished and walked away from them.

"I was gonna say sex but ya know" Tripp shrugged his shoulders and walked away.

"Truck 23, Truck 16, Ambulance 14, House fire..." they all heard that same, loving robotic voice say and they all ran to the trucks.

"Hammond, take truck 23 and secure the top floor, get he victims out and made sure those floor boards don't come flying down. Truck 16... put out that damn fire" she smiled as they all nodded and ran inside.

Hammond led truck 23 to the top floor as they searched all the rooms and found the victims unconscious. They realized the floor started to burn against their boots and that it felt unsteady with every step they took.

"Careful the fire's catching on the wood, breaking it down. Rope!" Hammond yelled as they grabbed their rope and he tied it around himself, walking across the floor with a creak every where he stepped.

O'Connor was leading Truck 16 around the lower parts of the house, "The basement!" Aiden yelled as Nancy and Rosen followed her down while the others tried to put out the fire.

The three of them reached the bottom and saw the amount of gas canisters and propane, "Shit! Get down!" Aiden yelled and lunged in front of Nancy, tackling her to the ground and shielding her as Rosen managed to duck behind some furniture.

The fire spread to the propane and lit it up sending fire through the room and over the three women.

Nancy's ears rung as she opened her eyes realizing she was being dragged up the stairs of the basement. "Wai—wait... Captain? Aiden!" she started to yell and struggled.

"Owens! Calm down, Owens! Calm!" she heard Rosen say as she was finally outside, paramedics rushed to her side as she looked around panicked still only hearing muffled voices.

"Aiden? Where is she?!" she panicked as they laid her down and held her down trying to calm her.

"Owens, you need to calm down" Hammond told her as she looked at the still slightly burning building.

"Please" she grabbed Hammond's arm, "Where is she?" she looked into his eyes as he looked to the house.

"She's still in there?! Get her out!" she tried to get up, but they held her down again.

They took her to the ambulance and sat her inside as Firefighters continued to spray the house with water.

"CHIEF!" Tripp yelled as Nancy stood up once again and looked to him carrying a figure in his arms.

"Who is that...?" she tried to walk forward but Rosen held her back, she managed to shake herself off of her.

Paramedics ran to him with a stretcher as they laid the Firefighter down and removed the mask and helmet.
