After Tella picked the Jack of Hearts, Legend didn't know what to think. He was hoping that it was simply a mistake, but he wasn't sure he could say that anymore.
Either way, it was almost time for Scarlett and Julian's wedding, and he didn't want to ruin their special day, so he put on a fake smile. Plus, he couldn't afford a fight with Tella.
Legend went about his business that day, and when he saw Tella, he didn't wave, no matter how much he was tempted to.
He knew he had to make things right, and he sincerely planned on doing exactly that until he had his heart broken again. He walked back to his room to freshen up when he saw something on his bed.
It was a letter, but it wasn't addressed to him. It was addressed to Jacks. He shouldn't have opened it, but his curiosity got the better of him. He regretted reading it, though, after he saw the words on the page. It read:
Dear Prince,
I'm dearly sorry that there have been so many obstacles pushing us apart. But my love for you is so strong that it can undo any illusion Legend has put on you. It was never a contest. It was always you.
I'm not sure what he has lead you to think before, but if my father had arranged a marriage for me, he would have picked you. You have made my heart stop working, not from a curse, but because you are my one true love.
Fate has brought us together, and I hope you feel the same way.
