Exciting update!!! This is the last chapter!!!!! I will be coming out with another book, I just didn't want to put everything all in one, because I have so many sand ideas that won't all fit. I'm not going to mark this story as complete, because I will still be doing things on here like bonus scenes, maybe the prologue to the next book, stuff like that. But yeah, I'm excited to have finished a book!! I know it's not the longest thing ever but it's just enough to get started on the real one. I also have another Caraval fanfic called The 17 Before Him, which is about Jacks and how he killed all the other heirs. So yeah, you can read that while I figure out the next book. It should be out within a couple weeks, so stay tuned. I'll post the link on here and also on my wall for followers, but if you're not a follower, you can still see it. By the way, if you like my stuff, be sure to follow!!! I'm also probably going to do a fanfic about Legend when he was Dante I guess. So Legend before Legend. That should also be out by the middle of December. So check for that one too. Sorry for talking your ear off - or eyes out - but just wanted to let you know that important update. Lmao, this is actually longer than some of my chapters ;P So anyways, it's time for the last chapter!!!!!

A few weeks passed. Nothing important really happened. Tella occasionally mourned Jacks, but otherwise everything else was back to normal.
Legend was so full of love for Tella that no one could even pretend they didn't notice. He had become somewhat protective of her, afraid of something worse than Jacks coming to get her.
One day, Legend looked like he couldn't contain himself any longer. His eyes were so full of love, a sharp contrast from a few weeks ago. He asked Tella to go for a walk with him, which she gladly agreed to do.
They walked up a hill into a beautiful clearing. Light pink flowers fell from their trees into the very spot Legend had stopped. He pulled a small box out of his pocket. Is he proposing? thought Tella.
Tella was starting to feel very weird about everything. She had a feeling that something was missing. Not Jacks, but something else.
Legend handed the box over to Tella and she opened it. It was the same pair of gloves she had seen in Legend's drawer.
Legend's speech began. "Tella, there are only a few things in this world that I love, and you are one of them. You've made the Master of Caraval love you. Donatella Dragna, will you marry me?"
Tella wanted to say yes, she really did. Instead, the crown she was nervously toying with fell to the ground and shattered into 5 pieces.
The Shattered Crown.
Despite that, Tella wanted to say yes, but she couldn't bring herself to form the words. She was so frustrated with herself that when she finally spoke, she muttered the word no under her breath. But it wasn't her. Something made her.
Legend must have heard her, because he started walking away.

Legend
___________Legend should have been surprised the Tella didn't want to marry him. But he wasn't, not really. He somehow knew, he understood.
Ignoring Tella's pleas, Legend gave her a flat look. Then, without looking back, he tromped down the hill.

Tella tried to catch up with Legend. After all, she hadn't meant to say no. It felt like someone was clamping her mouth shut.
So on she ran, not even seeing the drops of blood on the ground.
She saw him halfway down the hill. Tella called Legend's name several times, which he ignored. She called his name a final time, and when he turned around, she always wished he hadn't. The look on Legend's face was colder than any she'd ever seen before.
Tella eventually made it back to the palace, feeling like a thunderstorm. Sad and full of rage.
On her bed she saw a note. She opened it and it said:
Donatella,
Did you really think a simple knife to the heart would kill me? It's not really that easy. And you didn't sever our connection. Our souls are still bound together. And I'm coming for you next.
- (Not Really) A Friend
P.S. You may now call me Emperor Jacks.

The whole letter should have worried Tella, but the end of the letter was what concerned her the most. Emperor Jacks? What was that supposed to mean? Before she could decipher it, she heard a scream.

It was Scarlett's.

Jacks could only laugh. He was a selfish creature, and when he didn't get what he wanted, there were consequences. He couldn't get Donatella, so he wanted to make her life miserable. Every. Single. Second. He was going to ruin her life.

Hi!! So this is the end... Again, I'm not marking this story as complete for now. I'll probably post within the next few days about another story. For now, this was kind of a teaser. Soon the real games will begin...🎩❤️
