Clay sat down on the grass, with a small bouquet of flowers in hand. He smiled softly as he closed his eyes, letting the breeze blow through his dirty blonde hair. He lay the flowers down on the patch of dirt next to him, patting it lightly. He sunk down, his body flat against the ground, as he gazed up at the clouds, "The clouds are no fun today." He said softly, almost like he was whispering to himself. He brought his hand up towards his face, brushing the lone tear away from his cheek. "I don't know why I'm crying, I bet you think I'm lame huh?" He laughed lightly and sniffled. "I have some good news," He said sitting up and crossing his legs. "I got accepted in to my dream college!" He said excitedly. "I came here the second I found out, only stopping to get flowers obviously, but I wanted you to be the first person to know. You've always rooted for me. My number one support I had said." He looked down and the ground then back up at the sky. He was quiet for a few moments then continued to speak. "I miss you...so much every single day. Not a second goes by that you aren't on my mind. Sometimes I wonder where we'd be right now if I had been there on time..maybe..I don't know. I'm not mad at you, I could never be. I just wish I would've done more you know? It's so..dull without you around. I know you'd want me to be happy, and believe me I'm trying...but you were my source of light in the dark...I know you must be laughing at how cheesy that was...you'd tell me to shut up and roll your eyes, giggling. I miss your laugh. It made me light up inside knowing I was the only person who could make you laugh like that. I hope I exceeded my promise from that first day we met. Thank you for everything you've done for me, and even now you make me strong. I love you so much....I'll never stop loving you. One day, when we see each other again, I am going to give you the biggest hug ever, okay? I'll hug you forever to make up for every time I wasn't there for you when I should've been..." Clays voice trailed off as tears started to spill and his voice started to break. He ran his thumb across the name on the headstone, then looked back up towards the clouds, blinking back his tears. As he was scanning the clouds, trying to make shapes, he saw a cloud settle in front of the sun, the rays shining through it, straight like a scene from someones dream. The cloud had a faint outline of what appeared to be a small angel. Clay smiled up at the cloud, knowing he wasn't alone, and wouldn't ever be, whether it be in life or in death.

THE END
Authors note
It's finally finished :) I'm sorry the ending wasn't actually happy I knew it was going to end like this from the start. I had this specific paragraph typed out before I wrote the first chapter oopsy. I hope you guys enjoyed reading this one as much as I enjoyed writing it. Theres a good chance I'll go back and make little changes and additions here and there that'll hopefully better the story for any new readers. Thank you for all of the support; I haven't talked about it yet but I hit 2k+ reads in a little over a week and that's honestly insane to me. I love you all so so so much <3 -Aj
