Neji x Reader- WTF LEE??

A "visit" from Lee (plot)

Whoosh!

The leaves rustled on the trees and the wind rushed by as Lee bounded from branch to branch. He was on a late night run to clear his head when he decided to stop by the Hyuga residence and ask Neji if he could train with him tomorrow. During their last mission Neji had defeated his enemy so seamlessly whereas Lee had struggled to face his own opponent who had been a master of ninjutsu.

"I must be stronger today than I was yesterday, and stronger tomorrow than I am today!" Lee reminded himself of Team Guy's motto as he leapt towards the next tree. He also secretly just wanted to say 'hi' to Neji's wife whom he had become quite good friends with.

As he approached the home of Neji and [y/n], Lee suddenly froze in his tracks.

"What ever was that sound?" Lee wondered and strained his ears to listen for the strange noise he had heard. Coming from the direction of the Hyuga house the faint sound of moans and shouts could just be made out.

"What ever could that be?" Lee pondered, "I must investigate." With that he took off towards the house. As he neared his destination the sound became louder and louder only now he could make out the faint sound of flesh pounding on flesh.

"Someone must be attacking Neji and [y/n]!" Lee suddenly realized, his round eyes bulging out with worry. "Never fear for the handsome devil of the leaf village is here!" He cried and charged onwards.

By the time Lee arrived outside Neji and [y/n]'s bedroom door, the house had gone quiet.

"Oh no, I hope that I am not too late," Lee gasped. "I must make my entrance now before the terrible foe can escape!" With that he readied his body in a fighting stance. "Leaf hurricane!" he cried and slammed his foot into the door, sending it flying open. Steadying himself, Lee stood up tall and looked around the room, taking in his surroundings. What the hell had he just walked into...

[Y/n] was lying limp on the ground with a blanket partially draped over her body. Her smooth skin was dotted with black and blue bruises and red marks that covered her from head to toe, particularly clustered around her neck. Lee could clearly make out marks that looked like handprints around her thighs and a trail of dried tears was plastered to her rosy cheek. Before he could rush over to check on her, his view was blocked by a fuming Neji who had moved to stand in his way.

"Neji! I came to help, where have the intruders gone?" Lee asked, puzzled.

"What the hell are you talking about Lee?" Neji bellowed, "the only intruder in here is you, now explain yourself," he demanded, still trying to shield his naked wife from his fellow ninja's view.

"B-but Neji, I heard screams and look at [y/n]! She-she is..." Lee trailed off as the gears in his head started to turn. "Neji... do not tell me that YOU are the one who has done this to your wife," Lee inquired in a hushed tone. His round eyes staring intently at his comrade.

"Tsh," Neji merely scoffed out of irritation. "That is none of your concern, now get out!"

When Lee stood frozen and hesitated to leave, Neji slammed his palm into Lee's chest, employing his 'gentle fist' attack. The force of the punch sent Lee flying out of the gaping doorway and onto the cold hard ground outside. With lightning speed, Neji slammed the door back into place, leaving a concerned Lee out in the dark.

"What did I just witness? Could the Neji Hyuga that I know really have hurt his wife like that?" Lee asked himself as he got back onto his feet. "Neji may be my teammate and comrade but, as [y/n]'s friend, I must ask her what happened when I see her tomorrow and offer her my support," he decided before leaping onto a nearby branch and heading back home in quite the confused daze.
