Caine Portman
2nd Period ClassroomThe rain pours heavily outside. It's been a while since it rained like this.
"Hey, Caine!"
I look up to see Maya who smiles cheerfully at me.
"Addeline is getting discharged out of the hospital today right?"
I rest the palm of my hand on my face and lean my elbow against the desk.
"Yeah, she is."
Maya looks over to the window.
"Well, I hope her parents are picking her up. It's raining down pretty hard out there."
Parents? I don't think Addeline has ever mentioned hers. I mean at least in this world she hasn't.
The bell rings and the rest of the class make their way out.
"Psst! Caine."
As I exit the classroom, I turn to my left to see Edward leaning against the wall next to the classroom door.
"What are you doing here? Did you skip class."
Edward shakes his head.
"I have spares for period two classes so I don't have to be in class. Anyhow, I think the person that made us fly is in this school."
When it comes to abilities, Edward, our school president, is always showing the most dedication in that subject.
"How do you know? And who is the suspect?"
I could hear shuffling behind me.
"Let's talk somewhere private."
Edward and I make our way to the stairwell of the rooftop.
It's weird. I haven't told anyone that Edward attacked me. I think only Maya knows. And here I am, talking to him as if that day never existed.
"Earth to Caine? I think it's Sebastion Morrow."
I cross my arms.
"Edward. Why are you telling me this?"
Edward does not say anything. I look down at the ground, almost regretting what I am about to say next.
Did I trigger him? But I have to know.
"What do you mean Caine? Are you light-headed? You're the only one on the student council I trust and you were there when that person was taking snapshots at us."
"Touché."
I guess I should talk about it next time.
"Anyways this is Sebastion."
Edward reaches into his blazer and shows me a picture of Sebastion.
"Him?"
It was a photo of the pale guy with reddish-brown hair and purple eyes...
Holy shit, he's right! That guy that took pictures of us had purple eyes.
"Do you know him?"
I shook my head.
"I bumped into him once, but he seems like a nice guy. I don't understand why he was taking photos of us? It's not like we're newsworthy- I mean at least not me."
