A knock was heard on the door.
"Suppertime, you two!" I heard Riley say from behind the door. We stood up and made our way to the dining room.
After Light was out cold (another way for saying that he was asleep), Riley and I sat in the living room. There were plenty of books, but my mind was elsewhere.
"Riley?" I asked politely, and the brunette looked up, and pushed her glasses slightly up her nose.
"What is it?"
"Well, I kind of come from far away, but the truth is that I was running from people who wanted revenge." It wasn't the exact truth, but it was pretty close. "So, what I am trying to say is that I have no idea where I am or what is going on here. Could you fill me in?" She put down the book she was reading, and sighed lightly.
"Well, let's see... how far back do you want?"
"What year is it?" I asked.
"XX36, March 12." She responded. I froze temporarily. 20 years? I was out for 20 YEARS? I'm technically 34? WHAAAAAT?
"May we start at 20 years ago, if that is alright? I have been traveling for a long time." She nodded, and I breathed a silent sigh of relief. Finally, I would know what had happened.
"Well, to start out with, you're in the city (well, technically you're just outside of it) of BlueSkies, or SkyLand, which is the capital of the country SpiritEarth.
"20 years ago, three Demis named Calvin, Jason, and Austin were found by Hatsnii traveling with the High and Sky Spirit, so Hatsnii forced them over to her side with the help of ShadowFlame and FireFly. The next 20 years were chaos. Buildings crumbling, everyone either dying or sentenced to death for some random reason, it's been terrible. All the while, everyone-well, everyone that was a Spirit or Demi, but the mortals were also looking, just behind the scenes-was looking for the Dark Spirit. None of the three Demi or Spirit travelers ever remembered exactly what had happened in the forest they were found in, but they remember that one of their group died. None of the looks were remembered, nor the voice, no nothing. They remember what happened before the forest, however, and just assume that EnderSight ran away one day after almost being cornered, along with those exact people. Word has it that the Dark Spirit is also LastLife. It's one of the more recent rumors' that's been going around." she said. I hadn't said anything since she started, but had slight changes in my position. For example, I was frozen in place with shock. How... why would a rumor be going around that I was LastLife, and who started the rumor?
"Th... Thank you for telling me this." I said. "You know, I guess I should let it out now. I have been kind of lying to you and Light this whole time. The real reason that I am here is because I was that last group member in the forest. The one who died. I am also EnderSight, the Dark Spirit. Oh yeah, and that rumor that I am LastLife? True." I spoke quietly, as if afraid someone would hear. The truth was exactly that, too. If someone heard, this would be a catastrophe for me. Meanwhile, Riley's eyes widened, then narrowed, then she leaned forwards slightly.
"You know, that explains a lot." She said. I looked at her, slightly bewildered. "I mean, you're wearing all black, purple, and red. Your disguise name was EnderCraft, which is insanely close to not one, but two of your names in the past. And you also spoke in a very proper manner, no contractions is what I mean, and a very polite tone." I nodded, agreeing with her statements.
"I need to find a way to get to Hatsnii so I can put an end to this war. Do you know of one?" I inquired.
"Yes. At least, I'm fairly certain of one. There is an arena in the center of town, you can't miss it, and if you sign up there, you'll have to fight-and kill-mortals in one round. The next round, it's the same with Demis'. If you win that round, then you can fight the Spirit of your choice one-on-one. No interruptions allowed. If she wins, she'll either kill you or force you onto her side, so be careful." I nodded, memorizing all of these things. "There's a couple days wait so they can get everyone signed up. You going tomorrow?" I nodded again. "I think tomorrow's the last day, which is normally when most sign up, so if you get there early, you should be fine."
I grinned slightly, amd looked at the clock. 3:47 am, it read. "Do not worry. If all goes well, I should be back by dawn."
She looked uncertain. "You sure you don't need sleep?" I laughed. "I am a Dark Spirit. I will be fine." I replied. "After all, I can go for around three weeks with no sleep and not feel tired or weird at all. Just trust me, I will be fine."
I stood up and walked towards the door, barely making a sound. I swiftly turned around, and smiled and waved as I opened the door, and stepped out into the fresh night air. I had work to do, and I will do it.-Hey guys! I just wanted to write this as a fairly (hopefully) short note. I just wanted to say that there shouldn't be a lot more cursing, especially not from EnderSight. Also, comment if you want me to start crossing over things, and tell me what you want me to cross over. If you guys like this book, don't forget to share it with your Wattpadian buddies! Also, check out my book 'MyStory Extras: Three Years Back' for extra background information. Bye!-
