I felt myself being telported out of the arena, and soon found myself in some sort of break room. I merely flopped down, and started to comb through my long hair, making sure that there were no remnants of sand or dust. After doing so, I grabbed an apple from my bag, and ate it, while thinking. I found it rather odd that my bag hadn't even gotten a scratch since I first got it as a birthday present from Blaze. It still held the vibrant blacks, purples, and reds that it had before. Even while I was out (my way of saying while I was in a coma), it hadn't gotten stolen, dirty, or wet.
Eventually I was jerked back to reality when an announcement blared through the room, and I jumped at the loudness.
"The second round is starting. Please, make your way to your portal." The announcement spoke in a strong tone. I wondered who I was up against. Obviously this round would be harder. I pushed those thoughts aside, as they'd be answered soon enough, and made my way to the ripples in the air that signified a portal.
Bright artificial-as well as real-light flooded my vision, and I blinked a couple times, allowing my eyes to adjust. I glanced around at my opponents this round, and my heart sank. I was against the Demis. Most of which I recognized. Now that they've switched sides, they probably don't recognize me, but they would certainly see through Hatsnii's magic at their moment of death. About two thirds of the Demis in their were watching me, sizing me up almost, while getting ready. This time around, I knew I would need some weapons if I wanted to stay hidden. I couldn't rely on pure strength and speed altogether, and magic would give off an aura too strong.
We were on the edge of an urban-like area, with tall buildings all around. To my left, there was a clearing with a forest. To my right, I could see an airfield with digging mines behind it, and behind me was where the city lay.
As the signal sounded for the start of the round, most everyone sprinted towards center. Riley had shed some light on how the rounds after the first worked. In the first round, it was a free for all, but it got much harder after that. Second and possibly third round had everyone but you against only you. Their one objective was to wipe you clear off of the map. Sometimes, for select people (mostly those who made it into the third round), Hatsnii would show up, and give them the chance to join her and live, or die.
I sprinted towards center, letting my magic flow slightly less than Austin's was. I kicked open a chest, and teleported everything into my bag, pulling out my favorite scythe. Commonly, a powerful mortal or higher would have a weapon that they were naturally skilled with, and would be able to summon it at will. According to the legends, the favored weapon of the Three Lives was a scythe.
I swung the tall weapon at the person who was closest to me (turns out it was Connor), piercing his jaw, and probably breaking it, judging by the loud CRACK that was heard throughout the arena. I forced it out, and sprinted off, easily clearing a large broken sewer tunnel that was behind me. I ran through the city, before running up what I presumed to be the tallest building, and narrowly catching the edge of the roof. Once on top, I decided to go through my stuff, to see what the chest gave me.
I counted a bow and quiver full of arrows, a slightly dull sword, and some food. It's pretty good, and it'll work for now, but I'll need to get a better sword if I want to win without using my scythe.
I stopped rummaging through my stuff when I heard footsteps behind me. I stood up and turned around, only to be met with the silhouette of Caden. I grinned slightly.
"I know you're there, Caden. There's no point in hiding." I called lightly, adding a cheery air to my tone that made me sound almost insane. He stepped out from behind the roof emtrance, and I took in the changes he had gone through when he turned.
Now, before I say what he looks like now, let me explain what he looked like before, and you can compare. Before, he had short blonde hair with electric blue eyes, and a white and light grey suit with an orange cape. Now, he had slightly longer brown hair with what I could presume were brown eyes behind shades, and a black and dark grey suit with a blue cape. Strangely enough, though, he had a gold and purple amulet around his neck.
He lightly grinned at me.
"Greetings, Cold Laughter."

Caden's POV

I walked towards the top of the tower once I saw the shadow coming from it. I knew that it was either one of us or that person who pretty much made Connor go mostly mute. I laughed silently to myself. These Games weren't fair at all to be honest, but we didn't care. Us Demis have had years to memorize the landscape, while mortals are thrown in here and killed slowly and painfully. We normally don't kill them at center, because where's the fun in that? Instead, we only kill the people who can just wipe others off of the map like she can.
I peeked around the edge of the entrance, and saw the girl in black rummaging through her bag. Suddenly, she froze, stood up, and turned around.
"I know you're there, Caden. There's no point in hiding." She said. I smirked slightly, and stepped out from behind the entrance. She didn't look like how I expected. She's constantly changing, damnit! One second she has brown hair with brown eyes, then she has black hair with purple streaks and green eyes, now she has black hair with red streaks and red eyes! I'm starting to think that she's a chromokinetic (person who can manipulate colors). I threw that thought aside, and drew my golden crusted sword.
"Well, sorry about this." I said, shrugging carelessly before running at her.
