After we gathered all the ingredients for the antidote, we met up in the Hero's Forge. Draal was on guard duty. We began to mix the ingredients together. Some of the ingredients that we had to gather were extremely gross and I hoped that I would never have to touch them again as soon as I put them into the cauldron.
"I think that's almost all of it." Toby said. He punched himself in the face three times to try to get himself to cry, but all it did was leave him in pain. Then, Blinky stomped on his foot and that did the trick. After Toby finished shrieking, he said, "Ow. That hurt." He wiped away the tear than lifted the finger over the cauldron letting the tear drop into it.
"And lastly, a fragment of Heartstone." Blinky said and placed the fragment into the Heartstone. Suddenly, blue smoke appeared enveloping Aaarrrgghh.
"It's working!" Claire exclaimed. Then, as suddenly as the smoke appeared, it vanished and nothing happened. Aaarrrgghh was still a statue. What happened? I thought that we followed the antidote to the letter. What went wrong?
"I don't get it. What happened?" Toby questioned.
"Nothing. It... It didn't work." Claire answered.
"I... I thought for certain." Blinky was interrupted by Toby, who exclaimed, "No, come on, we did everything right! Come on, after all that we did, it has to work. It has too."
"Unless... The list was bogus! How could we have been so stupid?" Claire proclaimed.
"The amulet told us we could bring him back. He has to come back. I even did the tear thing." Toby sniffled. I turned away to try and clear my head. Did we truly fail? After everything we have done? What are we going to do now? Then, I heard Toby laughing and when I turned around I couldn't believe my eyes. Aaarrrgghh was no longer a stone statue. He's alive! We did it!
"Aaarrrgghh!" Claire exclaimed.
"Deya's grace be upon us." Blinky said.
"It worked." I said. Aaarrrgghh was clutching his head as if he was in pain and he was growling. Suddenly, his eyes were purple and black. He gave a bellowing roar. Draal tried to go and calm him down, but he was quickly knocked to the side.
"Draal!" I exclaimed, then I stood in front of Aaarrrgghh and said, "Aaarrrgghh, you need to calm down." But, I was thrown to side. Aaarrrgghh started knocking things over and was on a rampage. He stormed past Claire as she was trying to reason with him and knocked Blinky and Toby to the side.
"He's disoriented! Quiet him before he alerts all of Troll market!" Blinky declared. Toby ran towards the gate to try and seal it, so Aaarrrgghh wouldn't escape, then Aaarrrgghh charged him.
"Toby!" I yelled.
"Whoa, Aaarrrgghh! Easy! Easy! It's me! You're wing man!" Toby exclaimed. Aaarrrgghh growled again and slammed his fists against the doors, but he didn't hurt Toby. Could that mean?...
"Wing man?" Aaarrrgghh questioned.
"Ah! He's back! Oh, I knew he'd be back!" Toby cheered and embraced him.
"I see it! I don't believe it!" Draal exclaimed. Then, Claire and I joined in on hugging Aaarrrgghh.
"We missed you, you big brute!" Claire laughed.
"Yeah, we did. It's so good to have you back." I chuckled.
"I had all, but assumed I would never see you again, old friend." Blinky said. Aaarrrgghh and Blinky embraced each other, then Aaarrrgghh asked, "How did I... Where's Jim?" Aaarrrgghh looked around for him.
"He, uh, went to the Darklands so that no one else would get hurt." Claire explained.
"Must get Jim!" Aaarrrgghh declared.
"Oh, yes, so you do know how to save him. The amulet proclaimed that you are the key to the hunter. So, tell us, what must we do?" Blinky wondered.
"Um..." Aaarrrgghh mumbled. Then, the Soothscryer appeared and a voice announced, "Aarghaumont." Aaarrrgghh was troubled by this announcement and I didn't blame him. He asked, "What is..."
Blinky answered for him, "The amulet and the Fates that guide it have called to you. To what purpose, only you can discover, my dear old friend."
Aaarrrgghh walked up to the Soothscryer, put his hand inside, then vanished as he went into the Void.
