i was woken up by a nurse injecting something into my arm and trying to take my blood pressure. when she finally left i couldnt go back to sleep even though it was early. i sat up and wiped my eyes then looked around the room. perri was still where he was last night and sam was laying across a few chairs with a blanket thrown over him. it looked like mom and dad had taken ellie home and honestly i didnt mind. it was probably heart breaking for them to know thier son can't remember them.
i got off the bed and looked at myself in the mirror. i wasnt bad looking i dont think. i had defined muscle and floppy black hair. i had a blank expression and not much light in my eyes.
there was a window in the wall but it was too high up for me to see out of even if i jumped. i was determined to get up to the large windowsill though so i pulled myself onto a cabinet then climbed onto the windowsill. i sat with my legs crossed and looked out at the busy streets.
i sat like that for a long while just watching the cars go by. the sun had risen and cast an orange glow into the room. "Mitchell" perri mumbled looking up at me. i waved slightly at him as he sat up and put his glasses on. "how did you get up there" he laughed. "climbed" i shrugged.
he found his way up and sat next to me. "so have you got any questions" he said "i dont know what questions to ask" i shrugged "wamt to know a few things about you" he asked "sure go for it" i said "ok so as you know im in a dance crew called diversity with all the lads and we are Britain's best dance crew" he said "whats that got to do with me" i asked "your also a member, we danced with the team since we were little, you was maybe six when you started but i was a few years older as i started later, your like the ninja of the group, you can master any flip and pull off any dance move" he smiled "well im not now, i cant even remember how to dance" i sighed "ill help ok, it will be fine" he smiled.
"boys get off the windowsill" sam grumbled obviously only just woken up. "if you can get us then go for it" i smirked "dont even start" sam said getting up. "i hate grumpy morning people" i grumbled "yeah we all know, yet your the worst in the mornings" perri laughed.
i chuckled then climbed down off the window sill "how much sleep did you get little brother" sam asked "nurse woke me up early" i shrugged then lay back on the bed "sleep now then" he said throwing a blanket back over me "i feel like shit" i grumbled "go to sleep mitchell" sam chuckled.
i buried my head into the pillow and shoved my hair away from my face "i need a hair cut" i grumbled "you love your hair" perri laughed "not so much anymore" i said before dropping off to sleep.
i woke up again to more noise in the room. i groaned loudly making the room go quiet. "ok mitch, you slept most of the day, time to get up" sam said shaking me "leave me alone Samuel" i grumbled. i was harshly pulled off the bed and sams face was inches away from mine "dont call me Samuel" sam grumbled. i nodded and he shoved me back on the bed. i heard a girl cry sofly behind me so i turned to look at her. i watched her for a moment as she sobbed "Mitchell" she chocked out "he doesn't remember you" sam snapped. she looked at me shocked and i nodded slightly "im sorry, i dont know you" i apologised.
"dont feel sorry for her mate, she left you when she found out you was being shut off" sam spat glaring at her "i couldn't handle it ok" she sobbed "sam, who is she" i asked "shes nobody" sam said "sam, he wil hate you if he gets his memory back and your not telling him" perri said "she dont deserve to be remembered when she left him"sam growled "sam just tell me" i sighed standing at the bottom of my bed "ok fine, her name is kim and shes your girlfriend of a few good years now" sam sighed.
i glanced back at her and then i did feel sorry for her. this was like dad all over again "im sorry.." i started but got cut off by her pulling me into a tight hug "dont say sorry, im just thankfull your alive"she whispered in my ear. i smiled slightly then hugged her back as sam scoffed.
sam obviously didnt like her very much. she pulled back and kissed my cheek then looked me over "boys didnt even bother to make you look desent did they" she sighed then walked over to her bag "hey, what you trying to say" i said offended.
she smiled then walked back over to me "sit"she said pointing at the bed. i did what i was told then she started to brush out my extremely long hair. she brushed it back off my face then tied the long bits in a little ponytail on the top of my head. "kim, no offence but im not a girl" i said "you did this all the time see" she said then started showing me pictures i had obviously taken before the accident. i had my hair the exact way she just did it obviously to get it off my face. she showed me a few photos of myself in different places and there was loads with her.
she wasnt too happy when i decided i was bored of looking at myself and got up to go sit by perri. "rude" she wined "be patient with him, he cant remember how to do things" sam spat at her.
she glared at him and i sighed "when do i get to leave this place" i grumbled "tomorrow, if i can get my tests done on you without you resisting" the doctor said coming in "he only just woke up from a coma though" sam said obviously not happy with that decision.
"hes in a stable position so why make him stay here to just get more and more eager to leave, if a test goes wrong then he stays here" the doctor said.
he pulled me to sit on the bed then he did a few checks on my head and neck then the rest of my body "your functioning well" he smiled. i nodded then he did a few reaction tests and breathing tests "you look perfectly well mr craske, your free to leave tomorrow" the doctor smiled then left the room "yes, i got my roomy back" perri yelled jumping on me "how fun" i said making him freeze "im joking" i chuckled making him start slapping me "cut it out" i laughed shoving him off me.
"stop acting five" kim said while looking at her phone "whats up with her" i mouthed at perri "shes likes you to herself" perri mouthed back. "oh" i said then burst out laughing "grow up mitchell" she sighed yet again "if im that annoying, why are you here" i said rasing an eyebrow "this isnt you, you forgot what your like and once your remember everything will go back to normal" she shrugged "doctor says he may never remember " sam smirked "oh he will remember" kim smirked lookin at me "remind me to never stay in a room alone with her" i said to perri making him laugh "shut up mitch" she growled.
i laughed along with perri and slowly kim seemed to foget her patience and screamed before marching out "high five" sam said looking at perri. they high fived then looked at me "i like mitch better when shes not here" sam smiled "come on sam, i cant be mean to her all the time, im her boyfriend for god sake" i chuckled "yeah but its fun annoying her isnt it" perri smiled "oh yeah" i chuckled laying down.
the rest of the day flew by and i felt bad that kim didnt come back in until late "perri, your moms outside, she wants to talk to you" ash said poking his head in the door. all the boys had visited at random times today and they all laughed when sam told the kim story.
perri got up to leave and then i was left with sam and kim "sam can i talk to you in the hallway please" ash asked. sam didnt look happy about that and stayed put "its about work, it will be five minutes tops" ash sighed.
sam got up and slowly walked out the room then leaving me sadly with kim. "im not out to ruin your fun mitch" kim suddenly said "never said you was" i shrugged. she got up then and climbed on the bed before sitting in my lap and wrapping her arms around me. i automatically held her close and after a while i rested my head on her shoulder and cuddled into her neck. she giggled slightly and layed a kiss on my bare shoulder. shivers ran through my body and i sighed in content. i didnt even know the girl and yet she was making me happy.
i ended up talking with kim for the rest of the time she had left here before she had to go home for the night. i could see why i was in a relationship with her. sam and perri sat and watched me which was very uncomfortable but there was nothing i could do about it.
"well, except for it being in a hospital, this was just like old times and i had fun" kim said packing her stuff into her bag "yeah, me too" i smiled "see you tomorrow ok, i love you mitch" she smiled and kissed my head "well i know i like you if that counts" i shrugged. she giggled and kissed my cheek before leaving "bye kim"i called "bye bubba" she called back.
i looked back at the boys and the smile wiped off my face "what" i said. "she left you when you was dying and now shes come back" sam spat. "sam dont start" i sighed "sam hes going to be him, you cant stop him ok so leave him do what he needs to do" ash said flashing me a smile "thanks ash" i smiled.
sam scoffed then left the room slamming the door. "anything you want to say pel" i sighed "hey im with you every step of the way brother" perri smiled.
