Fight for the sake of every child's future. The future that my parents tried to protect. The future that my clan tried to save but still failed. Many generations had passed yet no one succeeded in their mission. There is only one choice left for me and that is to be strong. I need to be stronger in order to fulfill the duty forced upon me.

In this chaotic world, there is no room for the weak. Those who bend down in tears feeling sorry for their lost have no choice but to be devoured...and to be killed.

Many lives were lost in this never ending war and I kept on asking myself why do demons had to exist in this world?

If it weren't for them, I won't carry this guilt for killing countless of my kind. They were once a human, too. What drives them to go through this extent? How I wish there would be anything I can do to save them but there isn't.

Demons are called human predators. They're worse than any other beast. Human blood and flesh are their source of food. They also possess incredible regenerative ability which allows them to grow new body parts in an instant.

We, hunters are nothing but human. Only our magic powers allows us to battle with demons.

Magic is abundant in this world. It can also be learned. People depends on it since ancient times for different aspects of living.

Humans are classified into three classes; the ordinary, the gifted, and the blazers.

Ordinary people are those who weren't born with magic. Meaning, magic never manifested in their bodies. They have the right to decide whether they want to learn it by the use of weapons or not.

Gifted are those people who were born with natural magic powers.

And those who were born with natural magic powers and chosen by magical swords are what we call as blazers.

Ordinary humans who wishes to battle with demons without possessing any magical swords wields a different kind of sword forged with a different kind of steel and infused with magic. Their swords are what we call magic armaments.

Without magic, we don't have a single chance to win against the demons. Beheading them is not enough to kill them. We need to activate spells to fully annihilate them. Unlike demons, we don't grow arms once we lost it. A single receive of a demon attack would be fatal to our body and can even cause death.

Demons doesn't have distinctive weaknesses especially the upper classes. That is why we have to determine their weak points during battle. Even if we activate spells, if it didn't reach their cores, then it's all for a naught.

Although, lower kinds of demons have common weaknesses and that is their neck.

"You seem pretty serious in training, Lamerexia. Kababalik lang natin." A friend of mine interrupted my training.

"There is no time relaxing, Merill. Not until the demons vanish, there is no time for me to relax."

It's true. Hindi namin masasabi kung ligtas kami lalo pa't anumang oras ay maaari silang umatake sa headquarters. There isn't much blazers left in the Corps for they're gone to their own missions. I won't allow any death of my comrades. Not on my watch.

"I'm sorry. I'm not much of use. Sorry for being weak, Exia. I can't fight for long."

"Hey, you don't need to fight. Whatever happens, I'll do the fighting. You can't exhaust yourself, right? It's bad for you."
