'Can we talk, please?' Roman painfully slow as he signs, but I'm touched he's taking the time and putting in the effort to learn for me; biting my lower lip, trying to decide what to do, so I go with my heart instead of my head as I nod my head 'yes'.
Roman's entire face lights up in joy and surprise of my answer. He takes my hand to lead me to a secluded corner of the restaurant, pulls me to a table, and pulls out a chair for me. His actions cause me to blush a light pink color, and once I'm settled, he sits across from me with an enormous grin.
'I'm glad you're willing to talk to me,' Roman signs, the grin never leaving his lips. 'How are you, is your hearing any better?'
'We need to clear the air, so to say,' I reply - his grin dropping a little. 'I'm okay, and my hearing is the same.'
He holds his hands up to sign, but I stop with a shake of my head; 'I still really like you, but I'm terriefied to let you back into my life. I'm afraid you will shatter my heart again when I need you the most. I don't blame you for my mistake that caused my hearing loss, so how do I know when things get tough you won't bail on me again?'
The smile on Roman's face completly drops off his lips, as he tries to figure out how to answer me. The longer he takes to respond, the worse I feel and know this isn't going to work - I'm sure he feels I'm more hassel than he wants to deal with now or in the future.
'Don't worry about it, Roman, I know I'm more hassel than you want," I sign, standing to walk back over to the group, and sit down in between Gabriel and Jaxson - Christin is sitting on Gabriel's lap.
'Everything okay, Ten?' Christin asks, his face is concerned.
'Yup,' I sign with a weak smile, trying to keep the tears at bay; I can't let Roman back in when he seems hesitant to promise he won't bail on me again - I need some sort of assurance that when live gets hard with us that he won't leave.
Christin, Gabriel, Jaxson and Jamenson give Roman a funny look when he joins us. I have never been more excited for something to end as I am for the end of this meeting. Christine is coming home to the Cline's for the night - he and I need some brother time.
'Hey, we're leaving now,' Christin signs after tapping me on the shoulder, gaining my attention from starring at the empty plate in front of me - lost in thought.
'Okay,' I smile, relieved to be on my away from Roman and the other men, who I'm not completly comfortable with.
There's one man who I'm fasinated by, the man who is called 'Chaplin'. He doesn't fit what I thought a motorcycle rider would look like - big, burly man, who just screams not to fuck with him. Chaplin has short messy dirty-blond hair, round glasses, big blue eyes, and tall and skinny. I know I shouldn't have any preconcieved notions about people, but I did with him.
Trying to discreatly watch Chaplin through my fringe as we walk toward the entrance, he turns to face Jaxson, and I see them talking, but I can't understand a what they are saying - which is frusterating. Pouting slightly as I fidget next to Jaxson, while Christin is being mushy with Gabriel - which is cute and I'm happy for them.
Bringing my gaze to Jaxson, he signs; 'Chaplin wants to talk to you.'
Snapping my eyes to Chaplin's, he nods at me like he knows what Jaxson has signed. Tilting my head to the right, I sign at him with my right hand; 'Do you know ASL?'
Chaplin instantly raises his hands signing; 'Yes, my dad is deaf.'
My jaw drops in surprise, but I quickly close my mouth as I nod; 'Oh, okay.'
