Chapter 13

Soren looked outside the window of his bedroom. He has no idea on who he his or how'd he got here. He remembers the screaming of a young girl in a yellow dress, her face filled with relieve on seeing him ok. But he did not remember her, nor the people she named Milo and Isa Hills, or how he and Milo were the best of friends or the fact that he has a 5-inch claw mark on his left eye. But now was a bit different, Jessica had entered his room with 4 other people; which is odd for him since he doesn't have many visitors except Jessica and Matt. He did remember hugging the oldest of the group, when he admitted not knowing them. The older burst into tears hugging him back. He remembers the names of his new friends, Jesse, Petra, Lukas and Ivor. They were very upset about his current position.

Unknown to him, Jesse, Petra, Lukas, Ivor, Matt and Jessica were talking privately outside his room. "Not this again!" groaned Petra remembering how Gabriel lost his memories after the witherstorm ate him and spat him out. "H-how is this even possible..." Ivor muttered under his breath. "When did you find him Jess?" Lukas asked his childhood crush. "A month ago" Jessica answered. This caught everyone's attention, how could have Soren survived for a month, without being infected. It was a true miracle for everyone in the room. "How is this possible.." Ivor asked Jessica. Jessica and Matt suddenly changed expression, from calm to hesitation and fear.

"What's wrong? Is it something I said?!" Ivor muttered.

"No, no, no it's just that....." Jessica mumbled the words that came next.

"What was that Jess?" Jesse asked.

"W-what Miss Jessica is trying to say is....." Matt mumbled, like his leader he seem to have lost his ability to speak.

"What is it!?" Petra burst out.

Jessica and Matt gave each other understanding looks before continuing. "Follow us..." Jessica and Matt said as they led the group of 4 to another room. It was like a doctors clinic, except more fancier and advanced. In front of them was a giant X-Ray machine, with different X-Rays taped around it. "Woah....talk about fancy.." Lukas muttered in amazement, examining each X-Ray photo he noticed something strange in all of them. There seem to be some sort of purple veins in the brains, leading to the rest of the body. "These you see here are X-Rays of those who are infected" Jessica stated. "And this," Matt continued handing them another photo, "Is Soren's X-Ray results."

The room fell silent as Jesse, Petra, Lukas and Ivor examined the photo. Until something caught Jesse's eye, "What the heck is that?!" In Soren's X-Ray was a crystal, that seem to have latched itself in his left eye. "That my friends, is what keeps him from getting infected." Matt stated. "What is it?" Jesse asked. "That, we don't know, we never tried to take it out. Considering the consequences of that" Jessica sighed in disappointment. "Does it do anything else?" Jesse asked again. Before Jessica could answer, a loud crash came from Soren's room. "What was that!?!?" Ivor shouted in alarm. Jessica and Matt, immediately started to head back to Soren's room. Jesse, Petra, Lukas and Ivor looked at each other with concern, before following the duo.

"You didn't answer my question! What was that!?!" Ivor asked Jessica.

"That was another perk that stupid crystal gave my uncle!" Jessica answered back.

"What is this exactly Jess!?" Lukas asked his friend.

Before Jessica could answer, they've returned to Soren's room. What they saw shocked them, even Jessica and Matt was shocked. Soren's left eye glowed white, and a crystal shard was visible inside his eye. But there was another person in the room, a painfully, familiar blonde haired man.
