Keeping The Prize

"Illumi, I'm sorry." My voice clearly had a lump in my throat making it hard to breath and say the things I needed to say. I grabbed the end of his shirt looking down at the ground.

"I understand you have differing opinions." Illumi excepted the apology. "But if you ever let Killua get away from me again there will be consequences."

"I understand." I looked up at him tear filled eyes. "Even still I'll never go against my conscious."

Illumi slowly wrapped his arms around me pulling me close to him. "You can stop crying now." His voice held no empathy but even still it was calming. "I won't lose my prize."

"What?" I looked up at him confused by his last sentence.

"Don't worry about it." He released me from his hold. "Where did Hisoka go?" Illumi looked around the empty streets.

"He's looking for somewhere we can spend the night." I answered. As if I'm cue Hisoka walked up behind Illumi.

"They don't have anywhere we can stay in this town." Hisoka clearly wasn't happy about that.

"So where do we stay?" I asked looking up at the setting sun.

"We can stay in the forest." Illumi answered walking towards the forest.

"But it's going to get really cold tonight." I informed him.

"I've trained my body to withstand below freezing temperatures." Illumi kept walking.

"But I haven't! What am I going to do?" I had to walk really fast to keep up with his long legs.

"We can keep you warm." Illumi looked between me and Hisoka who nodded.

"I'll keep you nice and warm y/n~" Hisoka cooed.

"I don't think you understand how cold I get at night." I sighed in defeat.

Once we set up camp we found a nice place to sleep in a tree. The forest doesn't allow fires so the ground would be colder.

Hisoka went up the tree first then I did. It was fairly easy to climb the tree but my shoe slipped literally off my foot and I fell scraping my entire body on the bark. "Are you okay?" Hisoka asked jumping down.

"No." I was struggling to catch the breath that got knocked out of me on impact.

"You're all cut up now." Hisoka wasn't happy that I got hurt. "I can't have my fruit being damaged in dumb ways like this." He bent down and lifted my arm that took the blunt of the scrapes. It was bleeding but not to bad.

"What happened?" Illumi popped out of his hole he dug.

"Her shoe fell of making her fall when she was climbing the tree." Hisoka explained.

"Why didn't you help her up the tree?" Illumi fully got out of his hole and walked over to me to examine my injuries. I was still struggling breath.

"I thought she could do it, I didn't know her shoe was going to commit a double suicide~" Hisoka deafened himself.

"Can you use texture surprise to bandage this until we can get some actual bandages?" Illumi asked Hisoka.

I finally started to breath normally. "Good idea~" Hisoka grabbed my arm and ran his hand over it leaving a cover over the wounds, he did this with all the cuts and scrapes.

"T-thanks." I couldn't speak above a whisper and it was extremely difficult to get the sentence out.

"No problem darling~" Hisoka smiled. It was then I realized how cold I was when I started shivering. "Cold?" He laughed at my shaking body.

"Yeah." I sat up with a wince of pain, I brought my legs to my chest trying to gain some warmth. Hisoka pulled me into him giving me some of his warmth which I gladly excepted melting into him. "Sorry I'm so problematic."

"As you should be~ no good prize is easy to obtain." Hisoka stood up holding me bridal style in his arms. "We should go to sleep now you need rest. Goodnight Illumi~"

"I'm warning you Hisoka if she gets hurt again on your watch I'll be taking her." Illumi went back into his hole.

Hisoka decided the tree was not a good idea, so we slept on the ground. I was practically a heat sucking leach the entire night. He didn't seem to mind how I latched onto him though, he even wrapped his body around me holding me tighter into his warmth.

When the dawn came it got even colder. Hisoka's warmth wasn't enough so he put me in Illumi's hole with him. The hole was nice and cozy. I cuddled into Illumi as I did with Hisoka. Illumi wrapped his arms around me gently in my sleep.

Illumi surprisingly has a soft side deep down under his usual heartless cold persona, he may be an assassin but no one can fully remove emotion. Being honest I think he enjoyed having me in his embrace.

All good things have to come to an end, but this one ended to soon with the rising sun.

"It's time to wake up." Illumi gently shook me awake. "We should get out of this hole." Illumi called for Hisoka who came over immediately and Illumi handed me up to him who then lifted me from the hole.

"Morning~" Hisoka smiled brightly at me still holding me in his arms. "How was sleeping with a dead fish?" He asked jokingly.

"It was actually really nice and comfortable." I answered and he put me down gently.

Illumi popped out of his hole. "What is the plan now?"

Everyone thought for a moment.

"What if we go to this big underground ball that's held every year? I've always wanted to go because they have a black market where they giveaway all kinds of stuff, it's kind of like the York new auction but instead of biding you have dance offs to win things!" I suggested.

"Sounds fun~ what kind of stuff do they giveaway?" Hisoka genuinely sounded interested in the ball.

"What don't they giveaway is the question." I laughed.

"How does it work?" Illumi asked.

"Well you need a partner to attend, since there's three of us I'll be both your partners. They have professional judges plus the person giving away the item judge the audience, the seller and the judges choose the song then whoever they think did the best wins!" I explained exited.

"Can you dance?" Hisoka asked. "Because if you can't then it would be a waste of time, unless of course Illumi was my partner."

"Of course I can dance! My mother made me master all kinds of dance. She made me learn them so I would be agile, fast, graceful, flexible, have lots of endurance and stuff like that. I also trained relentlessly in several types of fighting." I huffed.

They thought about it for a while before they came to the conclusion that it was a good idea to go.

"Another thing I should mention is that the contestants are allowed to kill each other, and do whatever they want as long as they don't stop dancing and stay with the beat." This seemed to excite Hisoka even more.

"I'm getting really excited~" Hisoka smiled creepily.

"Can you guys dance?" I asked realizing I can't win alone.

"As an assassin I trained in several categories, so yes I can dance." Illumi stated.

"I'm an excellent dancer~" Hisoka answered.

"Than let's do this!" I jumped up and down happy I finally got to go to the biggest underground ball.

Hey it's me again! Are you guys enjoying the story so far?

What would you guys like to see from this story? I need a little help with story, like I know what I want to happen in the end but I'm having trouble thinking of fun adventures they can go on and things they can do.

Anyway how is everyone doing? I recently started school again so I've been kind of busy. Not to mention my mental state... I'll be fine, probably. Writing this story makes me happy so that's good! Also I'm super excited for the ball!
