third person.
"I mean, maybe you two just need a break from each other," Ethan suggested, rummaging through a drawer in his studio while looking for a certain sheet of paper, "You went from being a flight away from each other to living together, it sounds like you got passed the honeymoon phase of it and are now just tired of each other."
"But we still hardly see each other," Serenity replied, "At most we have a few hours in the evening together, that's it. I wake up way before him every morning and come here, we don't really see each other."
"Well, you love him don't you?" Ethan asked.
"More than anything," she nodded, looking up at him, "Why?"
"Then I think you just need space from each other." Ethan shrugged.
"Ethan you're not making any sense," Serenity said as he looked up at her, "Plus I don't where I'm supposed to go, Treasure and I aren't friends anymore."
"Oh like fully not friends?"
"Yeah, we had a falling out over the phone," She said, leaning back in her chair, "I said some things and so did she, we ended the call on a bad note and just told each other we didn't wanna be friends anymore."
"Well, I'm sure Amber wouldn't mind you staying at her place for a few days," Ethan suggested, turning back to the drawer as the girl glanced up at him.
"I can't break Zach's trust like that," she shook her head, "I said I wouldn't be around your friend group, I can't go against my word."
"If you explain that-"
"Ethan, I can't." She interrupted him, shrugging slightly, "I don't want to hurt Zach, at all."
"Dang, you're really set on marrying that boy aren't you," he said, letting out a small sigh as Serenity nodded.
"I don't wear the promise ring for nothing," she said through a small laugh that quickly died down as the smile on her face fell, "I just don't know what he wants from the relationship at the moment."
"I don't know, I can't help there." Ethan shrugged, finally finding the sheet of paper and walking back over to Serenity, sitting down beside her as he shuffled along the seat so that he was closer than before to her, "Ok so."
Serenity glanced down at where he was sitting before she shuffled a little bit away from the boy, furrowing her eyebrows slightly as she folded her arms, looking at the sheet of paper.
"Oh, when are the boys coming to help produce?" He asked, looking at Serenity as she shrugged, "Can they come in next week?"
"We're away next week in Florida, for thanksgiving." Serenity replied as an annoyed look appeared on Ethan's face, "One of my friends parents are letting us stay in their beach house."
"So you won't be in for the whole week?"
"No.."
"Can't you just not go?" He asked, "Sorry I don't mean to be pushy, it's just that I told Harold we'd be in here every other day to get it done."
"A week off for a holiday won't do any harm," the girl replied through a small laugh, looking at him, "I told Zach I'd go, I'd rather cater to his needs than a co-worker."
"A co-worker? That's all I am?"
"Well technically yes you are," she nodded, "Look I'm sorry but at the end of the day, Zach means more to me than you do. I don't mean to be rude with that but I'd rather break our friendship than break my relationship with my boyfriend."
"I'm going to Florida with my friend group." Serenity told him.
"What about Treasure? Isn't she going to be there?" Ethan asked, furrowing his eyebrows slightly, "Won't it be awkward?"
"Well no, we aren't immature about things. We can act civil with each other for one week," Serenity shrugged, realising the time as she quickly packed away her things and checked her phone, "Anyway, I'll see you Sunday. Zach and I need to talk."
"Is he picking you up?"
"Yeah, he's outside." She nodded, her thumb pointing behind her shoulder as she put on her jacket, "Do you need to talk to him about anything?"
"Just about the producing part." Ethan replied, getting up as he headed outside with the girl, over to the car and just looking through the open window, "Heyy Zach."
Zach glanced up at the boy, putting down his phone and letting out a small sigh, "Hey."
"What times are you free to come produce?" Ethan asked, "We've got most of the writing part done, all I need to do is record me singing it and then I need to guys to produce if that's ok."
"Uh, we could probably do the week after next," Zach shrugged, keeping the conversation small as Ethan nodded, "Has your studio got everything we need?"
"I mean probably unless we just work at yours." Ethan suggested as Zach nodded, agreeing to his suggestion, "Ok great, yeah see you then."
"Yup." The boy nodded as he watched his girlfriend say bye to Ethan before she got in the car, putting on her seatbelt then letting out a slightly sad sigh, "Did you tell him about next week?"
"Yep, didn't take it well," she shrugged, looking out of the window as Zach glanced over at her.
"Do you want to rant about it before we talk about the other night?" He asked her, receiving a small nod as Zach began the small drive home, listening to what happened in the studio that day.
And although Zach was still upset with what had happened between them the other night, he could still feel himself getting jealous over what Ethan had said, knowing that if she suddenly bails out of the thanksgiving arrangements, he's got as much time with her as he'd like for the week.
And that if she were to bail, he wouldn't be sure if he'd have the trust in her to leave her by herself or not.
