After spending all day with the friend group down at the beach, then heading back to the beach house for a small meal, everyone eventually headed off to their rooms for the night with their significant others just as it reached 10pm.

As Serenity got out of the shower and Zach had bought up two glasses of water and some snacks for him to have, the pair were in a comfortable silence and for once, on a good note as netflix was playing faintly in the background.

"We should get another cat." Zach spoke up as the girl looked at him, trying to dry her hair with a towel, "Just so Oreo isn't as lonely."

"We don't have time for two cats," she replied, "One is enough."

"Oreo needs a friend though," Zach frisked, watching his girlfriend hang the towel up before walking over to the bed and sitting down on it cross-legged, "We can name it strawberry."

"Strawberry?" She said, shaking her head as she smiled slightly, "No, no more cats."

"You're no fun," he sighed, turning on his phone and placing it down on the bed before he looked at her, "A bird?"

"Oreo will eat the bird," she told him, "Remember Marco, my hamster when we first met? My mom's cat killed him."

"Marco was a hamster not a bird," the boy looked at her confused, "Do you know your animals?"

"Yes I do," She rolled her eyes jokingly as he let out a small laugh, "I'm just saying, Oreo will probably kill any other pet we get, he sliced Jack's finger not too long ago with his paw."

"But that's Jack so I allow it," Zach shrugged as the girl shook her head slightly, the boy glancing at her arms, "You're super sunburnt."

"I know," she replied, looking at her arms as Zach grabbed the aftersun gel, "But we've been at the beach all day and I didn't put any sunscreen on."

"You're an idiot," he shook his head, rubbing the gel onto her sunburns as Serenity watched him do so, "I'm excited to see how the meal is going to go down tomorrow for Thanksgiving, half of us are still in that vegetarian challenge."

"Are you going to drop out of it?" She asked, receiving a confused look from her boyfriend as he let out a small huff.

"Babe, i'm a winner not a quitter." He scoffed, shrugging before placing the gel back on the table and wrapping his arms around Serenity's waist, "If anyone is going to win this challenge, it's going to be me."

"You almost lost on our date night a month ago when I mentioned chicken tenders," the girl reminded him as he rolled his eyes, "Yeah exactly so are you really going to win?"

"Stop talking back I want to feel powerful for once," he complained as she let out a laugh, placing a kiss on his forehead before the boy smiled, "But yes I will be dropping out tomorrow so that I can enjoy my meal."

"Daniel is so going to try and win," Serenity said, wrapping her arms around the boy before the laid down on the bed and cuddled into each other, "I think he'll try trick everyone."

"Probably." Zach shrugged, letting out a small sigh then looking at Serenity, a small smile growing on his face, "You're so cute."

"You're cuter," she smiled, looking back at him before placing a quick kiss on his lips, watching him frown afterwards, "What?"

"That's it?" He raised his eyebrows, "That was tiny."

"Oh my god you're so stubborn," she shook her head, letting out a small laugh before giving the boy another kiss, which he was quick to try and deepen as one of his hands went to cup her face before the girl pulled away, "Zachh."

"Rennyyy," he replied, mocking her voice as he placed a small kiss on her neck, "I just want to kiss you."

"But you did kiss me already," Serenity said as the boy let out a groan, looking at her again as he shook his head, "You did! What is there to complain about?"

"Nothing, I love you," He told her as the pair made eye contact, a smile on the boys face before he received one back from his girlfriend.

"I love you too," She replied, placing one last kiss on his head as he rested it on her chest, her hand immediately going in his hair before they fell back into a silence, their focus being the show that was still playing on the tv.

For once between the both of them, everything seemed to be content. They were on good terms and neither of them had anything to worry about with their significant other.

And to them, this is what they had always known, a quiet evening spent with small talk and a few pieces of affection, there was nothing they wanted more in the world than to spend the rest of their evenings similar to this one.

But they should know that nothing lasts forever.
