third person.

The morning of the 25th was spent with Serenity, Zach and Oreo in the middle of their living room floor. The girl had a medium sized bag of presents for her boyfriend and Zach had bought her two small gifts, not as near as big as the size of all the mini presents that his girlfriend had got him.

The couple collectively bought their cat a few small presents which included a bag of treats and a few toys to keep him occupied before he'd eventually rip it apart.

"Mine's not as near as big as what you got me," Zach frowned, "It looks like I didn't put in much effort."

"Stop worrying, I wouldn't mind whether you got me something or not," Serenity shrugged, a small smile on her face before handing him the first present, "I think you should open this first."

As he quickly nodded, thanking her for the gift and taking it out of her hand, the boy unwrapped it to reveal a light grey hoodie with the small writing by the corner that read out 'i promise' with a heart next to it, a smile on his face, he shook his head and looked up at the girl.

"You're going to be stealing this aren't you?" He asked.

She paused for a moment before slowly nodding, "I'll let you get your wear out of it though."

"Thank you very much," Zach said though a small laugh before being handed another gift, "Renny I am not opening all of these in one go."

"Yes you are-"

"You just don't want to open mine because you'll feel bad at the thought of it."

"Stop knowing me so well," she rolled her eyes, placing the present in his lap, "Open it."

"I strongly dislike you," he replied as she nodded and smiled, watching him unwrap the second gift as he stared at it for a few seconds confused, "I'm confused- why does it say April 23rd?"

"That's what the sky looked like the night you asked me to be your girlfriend dummy," Serenity told his as she flipped it around so he was looking at it correctly, "The second time you asked, I just thought it would be cute to remember."

"Ohhh," he said, a moment of realisation before smiling to himself and glancing around their living room, looking for somewhere to place it, "I'll hang it up over there."

After the boy opened up a few more presents and thanked the girl for each one, his pile was finally empty and it was time for Serenity to open up her gifts from Zach, which he was most excited about before they made the short drive to his parent's house.

Opening up the first gift - after struggling to get into it because of how much tape the boy had used to wrap it up - the girl was quickly stopped by Zach just before she took the wrapping paper off.

"I just want to warn you that my creative side isn't very good," Zach told her as he smiled then proceeding to let her open the gift, "I know I make music but arts and crafts isn't my thing, just a warning."

"Liar I still have that canvas with the P on it, that was good." She replied as he shrugged and shook his head, watching her taking the wrapping paper off.

"Oh my god," she smiled, looking at the front cover of a scrapbook the boy had made her, "Stop I will cry."

"I was going to leave the last few pages of it blank but," Zach began, watching her flip through the book, each page a different milestone in their relationship, "Things happened and so I added a photo of the test, but I thought we could finish it off together."

"And that's the playlist we made, I added the spotify scan thingy so it's there for when you want it," Zach continued as she looked up at him, a smile on her face as her eyes were full of tears, "Oh I-"

"Sorryy I'm emotional," she sighed slightly, before giving the boy a kiss, "But I love it, I'll read it properly tonight."

"I just know you like things that are made me meaning and effort so I made something instead of buying it," Zach shrugged before grabbing his other gift for her, handing her a CD, "and I made this too, it's a song I wrote while away touring for jingle ball."

"I don't even know if we have a CD play-"

"I bought that," he interrupted the girl as she looked at him, seeing a CD player in his hand, "The song is called lights down low by the way, Daniel helped produce it."

As Serenity nodded and smiled, Zach quickly got up to place the player somewhere before he carefully placed the CD in the actual player, a nervous look on his face as he pressed play and hoped it worked.

As soon as the song started to play, the boy took a step back and watched for her reaction closely, his hands on his face as his was anxiously biting his lip.

But throughout the song, Serenity's smile only grew wider and a few happy tears fell down her face before she wrapped her arms around the boy for a hug, which he quickly accepted.

"Did you like it?" He asked, placing a kiss on top of her head as she nodded.

"I loved it." The girl replied, "But now the things I got you seem boring."

"What? I needed a new hoodie, the night sky thing is so fucking cool and the cologne is my new favourite scent, it's perfect." Zach told her as she slowly nodded before they shared a small kiss, "I'm going to get the song onto spotify or something so it can be on your phone but I just wanted to make sure you liked it first."

"Don't doubt yourself I love every song of yours," Serenity shook her head and smiled as Zach shrugged, letting out a small laugh, "And the scrapbook is a very cute idea, thank you very much."

"I love you."

"I love you mor-"

"No sorry I love you more," Zach interrupted her before running off to their bedroom, "I had to say it this time!"

"Why'd you run off?" Serenity laughed, following after the boy as he took his shirt off and looked at her confused.

"We're going to my parents, I need to get dressed?" He furrowed his eyebrows as she slowly nodded, "Stop looking at my eight pack-"

"Eight pack?"

"Yes." He nodded, "Are you blind?"

"I'm not sure now you've said that," she furrowed her eyebrows slightly and smiled at him, watching him roll his eyes before walking off into the bathroom, "Take a jokee."

"Alright little miss sensitive," Zach replied, raising his eyebrows before seeing the slightly offended look on her face, "Take a jokee."

"You're annoying."

"I know now go get ready to leave," He told her as she nodded, giving him the middle finger before grabbing her phone.
