Love Is Enough

Shopping Trip

A few weeks had past and everyone seemed to be doing good. Anthony was now officially 6 months. Sharon had came to visit for the week, it was her third day at the house and she was in love with Anthony since the moment she saw him. She has been taking care of him majority of the day leaving Callie feeling actually a little bit bored despite being grateful for the help.
"What do you want to do little one? Huh? Wanna watch some more tv or go outside again or eat?" Sharon said in a baby voice to Anthony as she held him on her lap.
Callie watched from the other side of the couch.
Anthony started blowing spit bubbles, this is something he has started to do a lot lately as well as babbling.
"Ok outside it is!" Sharon got up and took him outside.
Jude came down and sat next to Callie on the couch.
"You ok?"
"Yeah, I guess it's just a little weird to see you actually bored and not busy." Jude said shocked.
"Trust me, I don't know what to do with myself. How have you been I feel like we haven't talked in a while" Callie laughed.
"I'm good. School is great too." Jude said smiling.
"You know, I wrote about Anthony for my midterm essay."
"No way!" Callie said
"Yeah, the topic was something that impacted you. At first I was going to write about my adoption but then I realized I already did that a few times. Our lives really changed so much when he was born." Jude gave a half smile.
"I hope in a good way?"
"Of course it was. I love you and you're the strongest person I know." Jude hugged Callie.
"I love you too." She said giving him a kiss on his forehead.
"Awe look at you two, so cute" Stef walked in from the kitchen.
"Where's Anthony?" Stef asked.
"Take a guess" Callie said
"My mother?"
"Yup"
"I swear that woman thinks that is her child." Stef laughed.
Mariana entered the living room,
"Oh Is there a family meeting or something?"
"No, we're just all hanging out." Jude said.
"Ok good. Callie I wanted to know if you wanted to go out shopping later since you have some free time, we could do some more bonding." Mariana said smiling.
"Sure" Callie nodded her head. Things were finally starting to feel normal again.

"What do you think about this dress?" It had been about an hour at the mall with Mariana and Callie was starting to get antsy. She had never been away from Anthony this long.
"Yeah it's fine"
"Ugh you're not even looking at it" Mariana said pouting. Callie looked over and admired the dress.
"Yup, looks cute, just like the 3 other almost exactly the same ones you just tried on" she said pursing her lips together.
"You don't have to be rude you know I like options.. fine I'll just buy nothing and we can leave" Mariana started taking off the dress.
"No, I didn't mean to sound like a bitch it's just, I miss Anthony. I wonder if he's okay" Callie said worried.
"I'm sure he's fine. Mama is there with grandma and Aj. There's nothing to worry about." Mariana said now a bit mad. She changed back into her regular clothes.
"Mariana, the dresses were cute. Seriously, I think you should get the blue one."
Mariana looked over at the dresses and smiled.
"Fine. Can we also stop at one more store before we leave? Also I'm hungry" Mariana said picking up the dress and heading out of the dressing room.
Another hour went by as they looked through a few more stores and Callie was starting to get more comfortable but the feeling of missing her baby hit her all at once again. Mariana could tell Callie was not happy anymore.
"Let's go back home, I think we did enough shopping for today." Mariana said as Callie's face lit up.
"Yes, let's go" They both left and headed home.

"Oh how was the shopping trip?" Lena said holding Anthony on her hip.
"It was nice, I always love hanging out with Callie." Mariana said.
Callie didn't answer instead she immediately went up to Lena and grabbed Anthony from her arms and hugged him tight.
"Hi baby I missed you." She said placing kisses on his cheek and lips. Lena laughed.
"It's only been a few hours."
"I know, but it feels like forever."
"You'll get better at being away from him the more you do it. This was good practice for you. " Lena said
"And I love hanging out with you too. Sorry if I was being like the worst mall date" Callie said
"It's ok I get it and you did help me pick that cute dress that I can't wait to wear!" Mariana said heading up the stairs.

Callie had fallen asleep on her bed with Anthony a few hours later while Aj took a shower. She woke up and smiled at Anthony who was sound asleep next to her.
She heard AJ's phone buzz and curiosity got the best of her, she gently scooted over and grabbed his phone from the night stand clicking it on. She looked down and saw one new text message from Dawn. Why was she texting him? Callie was now nervous, she knew she shouldn't have clicked it but she did.
Dawn: So, when am I going to be able to see you again? ;)
