The next day Callie was doing her usual bedtime routine with Anthony.
He was in the bathtub playing with rubber ducks and dinosaur bath toys.
He was big enough now to sit in the bath on just the bath mat. He loved splashing the water and whoever was giving him a bath usually ended up soaking wet. Callie hadn't had time to sneak away to buy a pregnancy test so she figured it was best to just tell her moms what she was worried about.
She watched as Anthony chewed on a purple and green t rex rubber bath toy.
"Ok babe, let's put some shampoo in your hair. " she grabbed the bottle and squirt a little bit in his hair before she started gently rubbing it into his scalp.
"Look at your beautiful hair" his hair was becoming slightly curly and Callie couldn't help but notice how he looked so much like Aj.
Man, she still missed him but she tried not to think about that.
"Time for a rinse" she rinsed his hair out and Anthony started babbling again.
She was trying to teach him how to say "mama" but all she could get out of him now was "mmma".
She lifted him out and began to dry him off when Stef came into the bathroom.
"Oh, is my little baby done with the bathy?" Stef said in a baby talk to him causing him to giggle.
"Mom.." Callie said causing Stef to grow concerned.
"Yes love, what's up?" Stef said picking up Anthony and rocking him in his towel.
Callie sat on the toilet seat and rubbed her knees nervously.
"I'm late" she said looking at Stef who immediately froze at her words.
"You're late?" She asked in disbelief.

Callie nodded her head in response.
"Wh-what do you mean your late? Late for what? Callie..." she said wanting her to elaborate more on what she meant.
"My period. I was supposed to start it like 5 days ago" Callie said as tears formed in her eyes.
"Oh my God, Cal, you can't be serious. Ok, let's not jump to conclusions right away." Stef said trying to make Callie feel better.
"It can just be late from other things like stress." Stef said still rocking Anthony who was now starting to doze off.
"I know it's just.. it's usually never late & I'm worried" she said swallowing back tears.
"You've been taking your birth control though haven't you? Is it with Aj? When did you guys have sex?" Stef asked all at once.
"Yes but I'm still scared what if it didn't work? We did like 5 weeks ago, it's been a little over a month"
"Tomorrow I'll buy you a test, but it has to be after I get off of work ok? For now don't stress about it too much." Stef was mad but she knew Callie was being safe and on birth control.
Callie took Anthony into the other room to change him into his pajamas.

The next morning started out normal. Mariana was in the kitchen with Callie feeding Anthony some apple sauce. Callie got up to use the restroom. About 10 minutes later she came back into the kitchen with a blank facial expression.
"What's wrong?" Mariana said scooping some more apple sauce.
"I just started my period." She said with a sigh.
"Oh.. yeah that sucks."
"Funny thing is I thought I was pregnant again or something because it was late." Callie fake laughed.
Why was she upset? She knew she definitely wasn't ready to be a mom again but, a part of her thought this would maybe bring Aj back into her life.
"Oh my god, that's a relief" Mariana said giving Anthony another bite of apple sauce.
Callie sent Stef a text letting her know that she got her period & to not worry about the test.
"So, how has it been with Aj? He has a new girlfriend now?" Mariana asked
"Wait, how do you know that?" She asked confused.
"C'mon, you know nobody in this house can keep a secret, these things get around. Like that game of telephone!"
"Well, yeah he does & I don't know, it's been ok I guess. We don't really talk anymore unless it's something about Anthony."
"Have you met his girlfriend?" Mariana said looking at her.
"I've seen her around school a few times when I used to go there." she said shrugging her shoulders & trying not to think too much about her.
"Is she pretty?"
"Yeah, she is" Callie couldn't help but think about how she was doing with Aj. Was she having sex with him? She scared herself with the thoughts. What if he gets her pregnant? Callie was living an actual nightmare that she so desperately wanted to wake up from and she secretly wished she didn't kick him out.
"Hello, earth to Callie.." Mariana said distracting her from her thoughts.
"What?"
"I'm off auntie duty now, Bye Jakey." this was the new nickname Mariana had for Anthony. She kissed his cheek and heading upstairs.
