Habbitat- Northern Australia. The Papinijuwari are giant vampiric cyclops like beings that stalk the night. They carry a burning torch in one hand and a club made of wood or stone in the other.
They have the ability to drink the blood of their victims without leaving a mark. It's unknown how they do this but it's believed that they can fashion their lips into a mosquito's proboscis. And others say they can shrink their entire bodies to the size of ants and enter your body to drink your blood till you are empty.
In ancient times it was believed that shooting stars were a Papinijuwari walking at night with their torch risen high in the sky. These beings are dangerous and should never be approached as they will attempt to kill you, as they will see you as their next meal.
They aren't smart creatures, quite thick and dull. Always fighting over stupid things like a single tree or a mountain that in the end might be destroyed in the process. And they are quite clumsy as well tripping over their own feet very often shaking the ground. Both female and male Papinijuwari are grotesquely muscular Creatures, the only defining features between them is males are only capable of growing beards and females with long thick hair.
The Papinijuwari are their own beings, neither related to Giants nor Cyclops or Mount Trolls. They are believed to be derived from the blood of the Dark Deamon Viper's blood when it fell on upon massive boulders. Giving life to these brutish creatures. When they fight it is like a thunderstorm is close, but this is only during nighttime, as they are nocturnal creatures.
It is said to survive an encounter with a Papinijuwari, you are supposed to twist your body into different shapes and speak gibberish while walking backwards. I don't know how effective this is, as not many people have survived an encounter.
These giants are capable of slipping in and out of reality going into pocket dimensions that's why they are so hard to see or encounter. They cant travel past Alice Springs, as they are afraid of the Adonartina, the awesome lizard is the only thing that the Papinijuwari fear the most.
