This wicked creature is not very handsome. They are dangerous creatures that linger in the treetops of mangroves in packs of 2 or 3. They are nocturnal in nature, so during the day they hide in caves or in old wombat borrows.
How they feed is similar to a vampire, but instead of blood, they suck out the magical essence out of living beings and creatures killing them in the process. But if in dier need they can feed off each other especially in the dry season. There is still not a lot know9 about the Garkain as to how dangerous it is. And how aloof its nature is unless it's hunting.

Legends say the Garkain were once common bats that were corrupted by the dark beast called
Marindi a singular spirit entity who had the appearance of a giant black dingo with sabre teeth.

The first documented case of the Garkain was in 1843 when a German explorer by the name of Sir Wilhelm Andreas Horst Müller. He did a solo expedition into the Kimberleys.
In search of a rear herb called the 'Eye of Wygle', which could grant the consumer to see the unseen, that being spirits or fae.
But one night as he camped by the bank of a billabong. He heard the screech of a creature he had never heard before. So he went to investigate what it was, not far from where was camped was a young mangrove forest, with wand in hand he illuminated the area. It wasn't long before he found the Garkain feeding on an unlucky Ozzlum. In horror and intrigue, he sketched to the beasts.

And made a note that their faces looked almost human but with a distorted snare. But his intrigued state would get the better of him. He didn't realize that wasn't the only Garkain in the area. He was attacked by the mate of the one he was observing.

But lucky for Sir Wilhelm Andreas Horst Müller. An Aboriginal elder was watching him in the distance. She went by the name of Cochrane, with a slam of her staff she cast expecto patronum. The Garkain were paralyzed. Which led to a swift and safe escape.
