Habitat- the dense bushlands of Australia.The Kokongbine or more commonly known as a drop bear to muggles. Are extremely dangerous and hard to avoid.
There are two kinds of drop bear. Common who closely look like the cuddly koala. And the mammoth drop bear who is the size of an American Grizzly.
Drop Bears can be found in the densely forested regions across Australia. However, there are also some reports of them on Kangaroo Island.From above, waiting up to as much as four hours to make a surprise kill. Once prey is within view, the Drop Bear will drop as much as eight metres to pounce on top of the unsuspecting victim. The initial impact often stuns the prey, allowing it to be bitten on the neck and quickly subdued.
If the prey is small enough Drop Bears will haul it back up the tree to feed without harassment from other predators.
The mammoth drop bear doesn't live in trees. Similar to the ancient giant sloth they dig burrows deep into the ground or live in abandoned dingo dens.
The mammoth Kokongbine use brute force and their weight to crush their prey, the prayer mostly consists of kangaroo and emu. But they will target humans if in their domain.
