Habitat- across Australia and New Zealand (other parts of the world). These ancient beings have lived on the earth long before humans even existed. They are highly intelligent beings that are capable of speech. They have their own language called Entish, just to say hello to each other could take up to 3 hours. But these days they use human tough for quicker communication. It's believed that ents taught humans how to speak the languages of the worlds.
They are known as tree herders, keeping trees healthy and protected. They will even command an entire forest to pick up its roots and moves miles across the land to find more nourishing soil. These beings even look like trees themselves during the day they will stand completely still never moving blending in with the trees around them. They only move at night knowing no human will see them.
Over the millennium, the relationships between humans and ents have become severed. Trust and kinship have left with the winds. Because of the mass deforestation of the forests, ents resents all humans. But they have a soft spot for witches.
It's unknown how many ents are left in the world but there is a large population in New Zealand. But an estimate comes to a close of 8000, yes this seems like a large number but when you think about the number of trees across the world. This number is quite low. But as I said before the numbers are unclear.
It's knowing every 200 years, the Ents of Australia gather in the Kimberly, known for its secluded and unique ecosystem, this is the best place for the ents to gather. The only other creatures That are allowed to attend are the centaurs that live in the Kimberly.
The bowtrukle is said to be the very very distant relative to the ent. Due to their will to watch over saplings and wand wood trees.
