"Let's stay home, Greta can take care of business."

I shook my head and wrapped my fingers around the cup. I was already getting too caught up in Evan.

"You already tried that Mr Jackson. We really need to get going."

Evan frowned and placed his own coffee down on the breakfast bar. I ignored his nakedness as he brushed past me. I lifted the cup to my lips and sipped on the drink. I had a feeling I was going to need the energy. I'd finished by the time Evan returned, this time fully dressed in a suit.

"Better?" he mused picking up his cup. He drained the drink in one gulp and took both of the cups to the sink.

"Yes, much. Lets go. You have a 9am meeting with Greta and some big wigs."

"Big wigs?" He laughed. "Record executives."

"Yes. Them."

Evan walked around the breakfast far and licked his lips as he slid his arm around my waist. "Ones that would claw through me, to get to you if they had any idea that you are the one who took the music world by storm overnight."

I looked up at Evan who grinned mischievously. He was still attempting to swing another day off, this time by not so subtly blackmailing me. I pushed him back and fold my arms across my chest.

"You wouldn't breathe a word." I replied, calling his bluff. "Don't ever play games with me Mr Jackson."

I turned on my heel and walked to the apartment door, I began to work on the locks, but there were too many and some of them seemed to be so intricately designed I wondered how Rita managed to get in and out so seamlessly.

I felt Evan's body press against me from behind, his lips brushed my ear as he leaned forward and continued to unlock the door.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that."

I ignored the rush of goosebumps and the moment the door opened I walked out, forcing distance between is. I had to draw a line in the sand and at work, everything needed to be normal.

I stood and waited for Evan by the elevator, Once he'd locked the apartment door and walked and stopped beside me as we both waited for the elevator doors to open.

We stood there silent as we waited. When they finally pinged opened I felt Evan's hand press against the small of my back. He turned me to face him and lifted my chin up.

"I really am sorry." He whispered. "I just don't want all of this to end."

"All of what?" I replied letting my eyes connect with his.

"This." he whispered, pulling me closer, he paused and pressed his lips against mine. "You."

I frowned and shook my head. "Why would it end?"

"I don't know." he whispered. "I just know I don't want it to and so I said something stupid."

"Consider it forgotten." I smiled. "But we do really need to go."

Evan nodded reluctantly and pressed the elevator door button again as the doors had closed behind me. A few seconds later it pinged opened and Evan released me. I turned and walked into the elevator and he followed after. We took his car to work, and walked in through the garage basement. I didn't give much thought to how it would look with us walking in together. Greta already had an inkling something was going on, that I was hiding some kind of feelings for the man. I didn't want to be the office gossip though so I still kept my distance.

"You couldn't be any further from me if you tried Ace." He murmured.

"I want to keep work professional." I mused. "You know this."
