Nothing Happened

(Brittanys POV)

I can't believe what I just saw. Why were Puck and Santana hanging out? Why was he shirtless?? Why did she lie to me about liking him?? I was about to knock on Mercedes and Tinas door but I ran back to my room instead to try and calm down. We had such a fun day together and then she wants to be with him instead?? I was relieved that Rachel wasn't in the room so I could pace without having to explain anything to her. I might have been confused before, but I'm not anymore. I love her. I always have. I think I was afraid of— well of something like this happening. Not being enough for her, getting hurt. Of course I would be with her, but this proves that she doesn't feel the same. I can't believe that I let myself think even for a second that she did. I may not understand a lot of things, but if there's one thing I know for sure, it's that I love her and would be miserable without her. So I guess even if the only way I'll always have her is just as a friend, so be it. I'd rather have her that way than not any way at all. I just wish I didn't have to see her be with other people.

I stay in my room for another 10 minutes and walk to Mercedes and Tinas room. I glance behind me at Santana's door and sigh. Then knock on the door across from it. Tina opens it. "Hey! Come in." I give her a smile and go in.

I guess since the party room is occupied by Santana and Puck, some of the group decided to hang in here. For the most part, all the rooms are the same, just different color furniture and walls and stuff. Rachel, Jake and Mercedes are one couch, Quinn and Sam are on the middle one, and Tina, Mike and Finn are on the last one. Kurt and Blaine are sitting on the ground leaning against Rachel, Jake and Mercedes couch, Ryder is sitting on the ground in front of Tina, Mike and Finn's couch, and Artie is in his chair in front of the TV. I take a seat next to Quinn.

She looks up at me right away. "Are you okay, Britt?"

"Yeah." I pause. "Did you know that Santana and Puck were hanging tonight?"

She shakes her head. "Not at first. But then I saw that she was ready early so I asked why and she said she had plans with Puck. So I came here."

I nod my head.

Kurt snaps his fingers at us to get our attention. "What are you ladies whispering about over there?"

Quinn sits back. "Just the fact that Santana and Puck are probably getting it on right now."

I feel my heart sink but snap my head up when Kurt, Blaine, Rachel and Tina simultaneously go, "WHAT?!"

"No one can resist a Puckerman." Jake jokes and everyone except me laughs. Then he continues, "Seriously though, Puck's a lucky son of a bitch." He shakes his head.

We all look at him confused. "What? She's hot!"

Ryder agrees. "He makes a good point."

"She is a beautiful girl. I hope if this is the beginning of something, that Puck treats her right." Blaine says while grabbing Kurts hand.

Mercedes shakes her head. "Do you really think he will though?"

"Are we sure that they're even together?" I interrupt.

Quinn thinks. "I guess it's not official. But I don't know... it sure seemed like it." She pauses. "What time is it?"

"8:15" Artie answers.
