The beating of your heart thumped loudly behind your chest in the quiet moment between you and Leon Kennedy, your fingers still delicately stroking the surface of his. It was frightening to you, the way his touch affected you so easily, and how merely the look in his ocean eyes made your face burn hot. You were showing it too much now, at the worst time even. Kennedy was sitting on the floor, slightly wincing at the pain he felt from the deep cuts on his right shoulder. The image of the creature that attacked Leon was trapped in your mind. You've never seen anything so horrifying before. . . but you knew it wouldn't be the last.
"Don't be stupid," you finally said in response to Kennedy's quip. "You're hurt."
"It's not that bad, (Y/N)," Leon said as he glanced at his injury. "I'll live. Just needs to be disinfected and wrapped. . ."
You peered down as Kennedy retracted his gloved hand from underneath yours. He reached into the pouch at his waist and pulled out a bottle of alcohol and a roll of bandages. As he began to treat his cuts you scooched beside him and picked up the bandages from the floor, unraveling a small amount of the white material.
"Here. I can do this for you."
You felt Leon's gaze land on you as you gradually wrapped the bandages over the deep cuts. Up and around his arm you went, slowly, as well as trying to keep your eyes locked onto the bind. Is he. . . staring at me? your thoughts questioned. You bit at your bottom lip before lifting your gaze, locking eyes with Leon's as you finished wrapping his wound. Your heart beat sped up slightly as the corner of the cop's lips lifted into a smirk.
"Thank you," Kennedy said softly.
You couldn't help but glance down at his lips in the moment and admire how soft they looked. You were already aware of your attraction to the hot cop, but it was becoming unbearable for you at this point. . .
BANG!
Just then, a loud thump and an ear piercing screech erupted into the air. You sat up with a gasp, your back hitting the desk behind you as the wooden door swung open, the four-legged creature rushing in. Out of instinct, you reached for your handgun but you were stopped when you felt the cop's arm wrap around you. His gloved hand pinned down your wrist against your side, and your eyes went wide when his other hand suddenly cupped your mouth shut. You froze, feeling Kennedy's warm breath against your ear.
"Don't make a sound," he instructed in a deep whisper.
You gulped and watched fearfully as the horrid monster stopped just a few feet in front of you. You held your breath. The sight horrified you, but you couldn't look away from the thing knowing it could lash at you at any given moment. You stared, bug-eyed as the flesh colored creature let out another cacophonous screech before it slowly began to creep to the right side of the room. Your heart was pounding out of your chest. To your surprise, the monster didn't see you.
Leon's breaths were heavy, his chest rising and falling against you as he held you close. Slowly, he took his gloved hand away from your mouth and let go of your wrist. A soft exhale finally left you and you glared up at Leon for his sudden actions — your cheeks burning red — but you quickly looked away out of embarrassment when Kennedy's eyes met yours. He looked back over at the creature that crawled slowly across the room, its claws scraping at the floorboards as it moved.
