Maddie's POV
"This is so boring!" Carl Grimes, one of my betfriends, whispers to me in the middle of our 5th hour Chemistry class as I try to understand the complicated video.
"Yeah, it's chemistry." I say, noticing my other friend, Justice, is sketching all over her binder in sharpies. "20 minutes til' freedom out of this school." She whispers to me and Carl, then motions towards the clock.
When I look back at the SmartBoard screen it makes a static sound and goes black. "The screen went black!" Timmy Johnson says, as if nobody else knew. Why does he always state the obvious?
Then, a reporter appears on the screen. "This is a world-wide message. You are asked to not turn off your television or other electronic devices and listen to this message." The reporter looks like she's going to pass out, her skin is pale and she is taking many breaths between her words.
"What is going on?" I look over at my friend, Carl Grimes, an he looks back, worried.
"An apocalypse has broken out. Stay inside your homes at all costs and don't go near the..um...things outside. They are described as pale-looking people that attract to movement and loudness. They have been reported to biting and attacking humans, so keep your distance." The reporter adds.
Then the screen goes black again and I think about what the reporter said. She told us there were human-attacking pale things the Earth.
But she never mentioned they were dead.Follow me on Instagram @minermaddie and DM me or message me for story ideas/updates/whatever💋😋
