TW – Being hunted
If you had known, you wouldn't have done it. Probably. You wouldn't even have gone downstairs. Hopefully. Actually, you probably would have done it all, just because you hated obeying people. It was a problem of yours.
And you had known, in a way. It was the first thing they had told you, you just hadn't understood. If only you had trusted them.
It had been a day in late spring when you first got to know ATEEZ. Mingi brought you to the dorm to meet the members after your third date. Things were still a little unsure between you, but you knew he was special, and you didn't want to let him get away.
"So how did you meet?" Hongjoong asked as you awkwardly talked with the members.
"I was on vacation to the same area you were touring in, actually," you said, happy to latch onto a story instead of fumbling through conversations. "One of your bodyguards saw me at the hotel and seemed to think I was there because of you. He told me to go away, and it annoyed me. I ended up following him out of sight, and Mingi found me. We started talking, and learned that we both lived in Seoul. I asked him out within the first couple of minutes, and he said he'd think about it. I didn't even know he was an idol until our first date."
"I bet that was a surprise," Wooyoung said with a laugh.
"Somewhat. But he was so good looking it made sense."
Mingi blushed fiercely, grabbing your hand. Knowing he wanted reassurance, you squeezed his hand. The other members didn't seem to have an issue with your relationship, and you knew it would all be fine.
After a week or two of hanging out with ATEEZ as often as possible, you brought something up with Hongjoong while Mingi was cuddling you tiredly.
"Can I stay here?" They both looked up at you with surprise, Mingi's eyes wide. You grinned at him. "You know I leap into things. It's what you like about me, remember?"
He smiled then, nodding. "Yeah. It is. But I'm not sure what the company would think..."
Hongjoong, however, was watching you with a calculating expression. "They'll allow it," he says at last, his voice decisive.
"What?" Mingi said, gaping at his leader now.
"If you want. She's good for you, and I think they'd listen to me. You've been so much happier with her, and you've been improving as part of the group because you aren't so stressed."
"I- I do want it," Mingi stutters. "You mean she can really live here?"
"You have a guest bedroom, right?" you asked, and Hongjoong nodded. "Sweet. I'll move in this weekend, then."
Hongjoong laughed a little, shaking his head at you. "You get what you want, don't you?"
"Yep," you said. "I've learned to never listen to the word no."
