after school, jungwon told y/n to meet him at a cafe. the cafe he wanted to meet at was a cafe they used to go to all the time when they were together.
y/n got excited, thinking, "maybe he wants to get back together."
"maybe he still loves me."
but she didn't want to get her hopes up.
she went to the cafe, dressed up a little bit fancier than normal, walking with a smile on her face.
when she entered, she saw jungwon waiting for her at a booth, sipping on his iced coffee.
he made eye contact with y/n, and smiled softly at the girl.
they were talking, laughing, and having fun with each others presence.
that was until jungwon had a serious look on his face.
"y/n, there's something i wanted to talk about with you," he looked at his coffee.
y/n smiled softly, hoping it was something about them getting back together.
"what do you want to talk about?" she asked the boy, smiling.
"my girlfriend," he smiled, "i have a girlfriend."
her smile faltered, then faded.
"g-girlfriend..?"
he nodded, smiling.
her eyes brimmed with tears, about to fall. but she couldn't let him see her cry, she didn't want him to think she was weak.
she put on a fake smile, "i'm happy for you jungwon, but i've got to go. i'll see you at school."
she was walking but then she felt him grab her wrist.
"y/n what's wrong?" he asked.
she looked at him, her tears finally falling, and him looking at her confused.
"what's wrong?" she shouted, everyone looking at them.
"what's wrong is that a part of me thought that you wanted to get back together with me! a part of me still loves you, jungwon!" the girl cried, "and, a part of me thought that you still loved me too," she whispered the last part.
he scoffed, "can't you just be happy for me? i cheated on you for a reason. we broke up for a reason. i stayed your 'best friend' because you practically begged me. i could never love you in that way," he told her.
"go to hell, jungwon." and she ran out the door crying.
at this point, everyone in the cafe was looking at jungwon.
when y/n was running, she bumped into someone.
sunghoon.
"y/n? are you okay?" he asked the girl.
she ran away from him, then he looked at the cafe she came out of.
sunghoon made his way in there, only to find jungwon with another girl.
sunghoon grabbed him by the collar, "what did you do to y/n," he asked.
"nothing, she's being a baby because i told her i didn't love her," he rolled his eyes.
"you're such a dick, jungwon," sunghoon yelled.
"maybe she shouldn't be so sensitive! i've stuck with her for so long now! i'm tired of having to take care of her all the damn time, only for her to not be happy for me! i only helped her out those few times when we were younger because i felt bad!" jungwon yelled back.
"i asked her out because i thought i loved her, but i didn't. i told her i loved her because i didn't want her to be upset. i love her, but i could never love her like that. she'll never be more than someone i'm friends with." jungwon said.
sunghoon was angry, "do you know you're the reason she started talking when she was younger? she said you helped her come out of her shell, she started trusting people because of you," sunghoon said, looking at jungwon in the eyes, "but when she saw you with her," he turned his head to the girl sitting in the seat, "she was so upset, that she stopped talking to people again. she considered you her best friend, even when you broke her heart. you don't deserve her. you're nothing but a coward," sunghoon told him, throwing him back in the seat.
sunghoon left the cafe, telling himself he needed to find y/n. he ran all over the city looking for her, but then he thought of one place.
the ice skating rink.
he was running, and he accidently bumped into people, but he didn't care.
all he wanted to do was find y/n.
he walked in, only to find her sitting down, staring off into space.
her eyes were red, she looked so upset.
she made eye contact with sunghoon when the door opened, tears filling her eyes once again.
the boy walked towards her, cupping her cheeks, "put on your skates."
the girl grabbed her bag, then grabbing her skates and putting them on, and sunghoon did the same.
he grabbed her hand, and the two glided on the ice.
they were caught up in the moment, laughing away everything.
for now, it was her and him, and him and her.
once they finished skating, sunghoon grabbed y/n's hand and intertwined their fingers together.
she looked at him, surprised.
"i promise you, i won't leave you, nor will i ever hurt you," he smiled
she returned the smile, "you better not."

can you guys give me some ideas for next chapter? it took me a while to come up with this chapter and i still feel like it wasn't that good..
anyways, i got a new kitten today, her name is cali. my other cat is really sad and i've cried all day because i think she's mad at me, and she hasn't really let me pet her or interact with her.
