i was lying down in my bed, looking at the ceiling.

i turned to my clock, looking at the time, 4:27 am.

damn.

i need all the sleep i can get, yet i can't sleep at all.

i sighed, getting out of bed and heading downstairs for a glass of water.

i tiptoed through the hallway upstairs, not wanting to wake anyone.

as i was making my way to the kitchen, i saw my younger brother watching tv.

i walked to the cabinet, grabbing a glass and filling it up with water from the tap.

i sat on the counter, sipping on my water.

"can't sleep?" i heard a voice from behind me, causing me to turn my head.

i shook my head, "too much stuff on my mind."

"you really should sleep, or at least try," he told me, "your competition is later."

"i know," i replied.

"are you coming?" i asked.

"duh, what kind of brother would i be if i didn't?" he laughed, and i smiled.

he then yawned.

"well, i guess i should go to bed now, night big brother." he said.

"night."

i looked down below, seeing willow, my cat, rubbing against my leg.

i picked her up, "just you and me now."

a meow came from her, making me laugh.

i woke up at 6:30, not much sleep, but it will have to do.

i rushed downstairs, going to grab shoes and leave, but i stopped once i saw my mom.

i needed to ask her a question.

"mom, are you coming to my competition tonight?"

she smiled, "of course sweetie."

"great, i need to go to school now, i'll see you at five," i hugged her.

"bye sweetie!"

i ran to school, wanting to get there early that way i'd have to time to talk to jake and jay.

i saw the two waiting for me, bickering with one another.

i smiled at the scene, blessed to call those two my friends.

"sunghoon!" they yelled in unison.

"yo," i threw up a peace sign.

"ready for the competition tonight?" jake asked.
