sunghoon was skating at the rink, training for the competition he had coming up.

his trainer, mr. park, was watching him skate, watching his every move.

after sunghoon had finished his routine, he approached his trainer.

"how was that?" sunghoon asked.

mr. park sighed, "it was better than the last few times, but you're still not improving that much."

sunghoon put his head down, "i'm trying."

the man put his hand on the boys shoulder, "i know. but if you keep performing how you are now, you're probably not even going to place in the competition."

sunghoon was stressed out, "i don't even know if i want to do the competition at this point anymore."

mr. park looked at the boy, "don't give up now. we still have a few more days," he smiled at sunghoon, "i just think you need some motivation. now, we should wrap up training for today, i expect you here tomorrow at the same time as today. enjoy your night sunghoon."

he nodded, "you too."

sunghoon was standing at y/n's front door, debating on what he should say to her mom, "hello, mrs. kim, i'm park sunghoon, the boy who is in love with your daughter." or, "hello mrs. kim, i am park sunghoon, your daughters best friend."

as he was thinking about what he was going to say, the door opened, revealing y/n.

"oh, sunghoon you're here," she grinned, "dinner isn't ready yet, but almost. i have to go to the store real quick and pick up some things, you can stay here, or come with me," she told him.

he figured it would be awkward if he just stayed at her house without her, "i'll go with you."

"have you finished your homework yet?" she asked him as they were walking.

"i didn't have any homework today, luckily," he admitted.

"very envious of you," she frowned.

they arrived at the store, and y/n only got a few things that her mother needed for cooking.

as they waited in line, y/n got impatient, "gosh, why does it take them so long?" she rolled her eyes.

"we could just steal," sunghoon suggested.

y/n's mouth hung agape, and she slapped him on the arm, "never!"

he laughed at her reaction, "i'm just joking, idiot," and he pat the top of her head.

finally, they were checking out, and y/n grabbed her money from her wallet, but sunghoon already went ahead and gave the cashier money.

she looked at sunghoon, "you didn't have to do that."

he smiled, "it's the least i could do after you invited me for dinner."

she returned the smile, "let's go back to my house."

as they walked in, they could hear ruckus coming from the kitchen, pots and pans clanging together.

sunghoon watched y/n rush to the kitchen, him then following her.

"mom?" she looked at her mom.

"hey sweetie," she smiled widely, "dinner is ready on the table, i'm just cleaning up a bit."

"mom, you can wait till we're all done with dinner, and don't worry, i'll clean up," she told her mom.

her mother walked to her and embraced her, giving her a kiss on the cheek, "i love you sweetie."
