Temari did not believe in good luck and that was saying something considering she lived in a society of superhumans.
Just earlier that week she'd managed to apprehend a valuable asset to finally putting an end to Kanako's illegal experiments and crime, a few days later the hero commission and accepted her demands and made her leader of the case. Some hours passed and her pet dog was finally potty trained and knew well not to eat her goldfish. And now today.."What do you mean I should clear my desk?" The woman continued chewing her bubblegum without a care
"It means what it means. Don't look so down, its a promotion"
Temari pursed her lips in thought but did as the woman said after that. The other level 10 heroes eyed her enviously to which she pretended not to see.By the time they got to her new office she understood why her coworkers looked like they wanted to wring her neck. She was now working on the top floor.
A level 10 suddenly turned level 17 with only 3 months of service and zero debuts."Well Missy," Another hero with raven black hair and equally dark eyes greeted once she stood in front of her office new door.
"You got here quickly""I took the elevator." Temari explained.
"Huh. So that's what they call it these days."
The red head wasn't able to decipher what she meant by the statement. A spiraling balk of blue suddenly appeared and merely seconds later a blue haired woman stood in front of her."Welcome! I'm wave! That bitch is whoreface. We're hear to show you around." She almost blanched at the colorful language and wild nature.
"I'm Tint and that uncouth blabbermouth is unfortunately my partner." She snarled.
"Eh.. Temari" She introduced. 'So this is what level 17 sidekicks look like?'
"Oh! I didn't know we were doing real names. I'm Aoi"
Wave reintroduced much to Temari's embarrassment
"Temari is my hero name."
The three stayed in awkward silence."Let's start the tour, Wave and I have patrol in 30 minutes"
Temari quickly registered the mapping of the 18th floor and fell in sync with the older women. Tint's quirk was to tint the vision of whom she locked eyes with, able to go as dark as pitch black. The drawback a very nasty headache.
Wave's quirk was the ability to travel through any wave. The drawback she did not mention even when asked directly. A touchy subject, she noted. When they got to the end of the tour being Hawks' office, the man himself had dimmed it fit to make an appearance.
"Temari! You've already met our teammates" He slid an arm around the shorter woman's shoulder leaving goosebumps in its wake.
"So..this means she's our team leader." Tint asked clear askance in her voice.
"Yep" He replied nonchalantly with a closed eye smile and stress on the 'p'
"Cool! You're fucking gnarly." Wave stuck her tongue out and clenched her left hand into a fist, stretching her hand towards the redhead initiating a fist bump.
Slowly but surely Temari returned it.
Tint did not voice her reaction and remained silent. Temari had a feeling she'd not like it anyways.Hawks guided her to his office after the two left to go on patrol. His hand was still slung over her shoulder.
"Thanks for the promotion" A heavy 'but why'd you give me?' Hung in the air.
"You're welcome. Since you're team leader its only natural that you'd be in level 17." He smiled to the shorter woman whom simply nodded as if trying to accept the reason behind his actions.
"Wave and Tint seem to enjoy your company"And then it clicked. If she was a level 10 team leader how would level 17 sidekicks respect her? Though rushed the promotion was necessary.
"Wave, yes. Tint? I'm not sure" she pressed her lips into a thin line, remembering her reaction when she was introduced as their leader.
