"Syn, Mr. Knight is here would you like me to send him in?" Marissa paged.
"Yes I'm expecting him, I must of forgot to update the calendar. I'll email you over an updated copy on break."
"Okay he's headed your way as we speak, is there anything you need me to do?"
I pondered, I was craving a maple bar from Voodoo donuts.
"Could you pick up an assortment of donuts from Voodoo, if you don't mind?"
"With an extra Maple bar on the side?"
I smiled.
"Have I ever told you, that you're the best assistant ever?"
"Hm, now that you mention it—Only a dozen times, but you're the best boss ever so we're the perfect match!" She exclaimed.
Rahim opened the door and I motioned for him to sit down.
"I guess it won't hurt if I say it again then? You're the best, thank you! When you get back, I'd like you to take the rest of the day off. You deserve it!"
I didn't have to see her to know she was smiling and probably doing her signature happy dance.
"Thank you Boss lady! I'll be back in a flash."
I smiled hanging up.
"Good morning!" I chimed.
He smiled.
"Somebody in a good mood huh?"
"Yes I am, and I have news." I said sitting on my desk.
"Yeh? Good news, from the sound of it."
I nodded.
"My plan worked, Santiago is definitely involved. He was so transparent it was sad."
"Damn, I didn't expect you to make moves that soon. Let me find out you double as a detective."
I was just as shocked at my last minute call, but my intuition never fails. We were in the step in the right direction and I was only beginning to pry open Pandora's box.
"Don't forget my degree in Psychology. But what can I say I'm a jack of all trades." I shrugged.
"But I am a woman of empathy as well, and I owe you an apology for yesterday. I shouldn't of doubted you, and for that I'm sorry."
