"You know that song?"

"You know that song?"

I can't believe my eyes! It's him!

"I've found you! I finally found you!" my pitch got a bit higher because I'm feeling giddy. I couldn't help myself and made a little happy dance.

"Well, it looks like you did find me." he chuckled. "How did you know that song?"

"Oh! That's right! That's the reason why I talked to you this morning. I wanna ask if you're the one who made that song."

He looked at me for a second before answering, "Yes, why? You didn't like it?" he frowned.

My stomach churned and I felt something inside me ignite. I can't explain what it is but hearing him say yes made me joyous and thrilled.

I shook my head, "Quite the opposite, sir. I do find your song very much interesting. In fact, I love to hear it one more time."

"You do?" The sadness in his face is now gone. "I do!" His smile now reached his eyes.

"I really do. I thought it was Mark who made the song, but it was you. After hearing it again last Saturday night, I can't get it out of my head. I think I'm LSS-ed."

He didn't hold back his laughter, "You like it that much? Well, I'm stoked! I'm so glad you like it. In fact--"

"Ada! We've been looking for you! What's taking you so long?" It was Clem. She's at the now opened door, waiting for me.

"I'm sorry. I was just talking to him about something. I'll be back in a second."

She smiled at Aiden and then turned to me, "Sure, love. Take your time." she wiggled her eyebrows and then smirked.

"CLEM!" I shouted, telling her to stop teasing me. I turned back to Aiden, "I'm sorry about my friend."

"No worries. I think you guys are busy. You should head back." he said.

"Yeah. I should probably go." I smiled and started walking to the door when he grabbed my arm lightly.

"Wait." he smiled sheepishly, "Can I at least get your number?"

___

After a week, each and everyone of us was occupied in preparation for Valentine's Day. In other schools, it might just be an ordinary day but not here in our university. It's not called St. Valentine University for nothing. It's pretty much a big day for us students of this school.

Every club, every faculty, every organization that this school has had its own gimmicks.

In our case, it was the book exchange, blind date with a book, and of course, the photo booth. We still have a couple of days left before Friday, the big event, but I still don't have any idea for my own costume. Every idea that I had come up with is perfect for the booth, not for my personal use.

I was on my phone busily searching the net when I got a text message. My heart beat a little faster and I felt my hand become sweaty.

It was from Aiden. We've been texting for a week now ever since he asked for my number. His messages aren't flirty like the other guys who have been texting me but somehow I found myself smiling every time I see his name appear on my phone.

From: Aiden Carter

Hey. You doin something?

Me: yeah. I'm thinking about my costume. I still have no idea :(

Aiden: Can I suggest? I promise this one is very easy ;)

Me: shoot!

The next day after class, I asked Clem to help me buy some of the things I will be needing for my costume.

"Have you decided for your character?" she asked while browsing the dresses on the rack.

"I did. It was actually Aiden's idea." she suddenly turned and gave me a suspicious look. "What's the deal between you two? Are you going out? Are you guys dating?"

I covered her mouth, "Shh! What are you talking about? Someone might hear you. And no! We're just friends."

"Sure, 'friends'" she air-quoted, "But why are you blushing?"

I denied her accusations but I still looked at the nearest mirror to check if she's telling the truth. Hell yeah I am! What's wrong with me?

"Have you told him that he's the one you've looking for?" she asked while she handed me a couple of white lacy dresses.

I stood inside the dressing room and tried the first dress. After that, I went out to show it to Clem.

"Well, no. I didn't tell him and I didn't exactly say that I've heard the song a year ago. I just said I heard it AGAIN last Saturday night when you guys performed it." she pushed me back inside, "try the other one," I nodded even though she can't see me.

"Why not?" she asked, waiting for me to come out. A second later, I went back outside to show the second dress.

"I don't think he needs to know," I paused for a while and gave Clem a twirl, she just nodded. "And I might sound obsessed and creepy if I told him that. Scaring him away is the last thing that I wanna happen."

I tried the last dress and showed it to her.

"Well, I get where you're coming from. I just thought he would be thrilled knowing that you've been interested in him or his song for a whole damn year. He looked interested in you is all." she smiled. "I like the second one better."

I nodded, "Me too."

After the dress, we bought some gold sequins and some cardboard.

That Thursday, I finished working on my costume and I helped my friends design their own. Tomorrow's the big day. I'm quite excited to show my look to everyone else especially Aiden since it's his idea. I'm kinda looking forward to seeing his reaction. Aside from that, he called me the other night and told me to come by for their open-stage performance. He said he has a surprise waiting for me.
