I shuffled towards the door in a numb, mindless haze. I have collided with at least three people when I was running, not looking where I am going, not that I can see clearly through the tears anyway.
Luckily, Clem is there playing with her phone. I think I have seen this scene before.
"Hey, you're here!" she greeted me without looking in my direction.
I did not answer her this time because my throat has closed up and I cannot find my voice just yet. She noticed that I was not saying anything and when she glanced up, she saw how messed up I was. She sat up from her bed and threw her arms wide open.
"Come here."
I dropped my things on the floor and ran straight into her. She wrapped me into a tight hug. I leaned my head on her shoulders and quietly let my tears seep out.
After some time, she finally broke the silence. Pulling away, she asked, "Do you wanna talk about it?"
Tears threatened to come out again but I shook my head trying to clear them away.
"Hey. It's okay to cry and don't worry, my other shoulder is still dry. You can lean on it and cry your heart out." she said jokingly.
"Ha-ha. So funny, Clem." But there was a smile that appeared in my lips.
"I thought you had a wonderful time with your family? Did things go south?"
"Oh no. Things with my family are very much okay. I even think that I've finally forgiven my dad. The dinner is good..."
"But?" she raised her eyebrows in question.
"But it's not the reason why I came home crying. It's Aiden."
"Him again? Okay, tell me what happened so I can kick his ass later. But first tell me how's the birthday party. I'm glad you finally have the courage to forgive Uncle Aris. Tell me the good news first and we can kill whoever needs to be killed after." she grinned.
I told her everything, the moment I got home, the party, the storm, and even my nightmare.
"Oooh, looks like you had a premonition or something." she crossed her arms, thinking.
"Now that you've mentioned it. I think it is a warning."
Then I told her what I saw earlier in the library.
"I knew that she saw me. Our eyes freaking met like this." I turned her to me and looked at her straight in the eye. "Then she giggled like a buffoon and-- and they kissed."
"Who kissed who?" she asked calmly.
"Rachelle. She kissed him but he held her shoulders like what he always do every time we kiss. He holds my shoulders to steady and to deepen the kiss and--"
I wasn't able to continue my sentence because the tears came pouring again, like someone opened the faucet in my eyes. I tried to wipe it away but it keeps on coming.
