I was able to avoid him for a week but meeting him again for the Wednesday class is inevitable. I have also been neglecting my duties as his partner, letting him finish the drawings and coloring it all by himself is really eating me up.
"Sorry for not showing up for the last few days, I'm not really feeling well."
It is not that I am lying, part of it is true. My heart is not well.
"It's okay. I understand so don't worry. We just have to record the song and shoot the music video. I can't really do those things alone. I need an extra pair of hands. So..."
"I'll be a good project partner from now on. Just tell me when and I'll show up."
He grinned, "Then let's not waste anymore time, meet me later after class. In my dorm."
"Why does it have to be your dorm?"
"Because the materials are there?"
"Right."
So after my class, I went straight to his dorm. We were able to finish shooting the music video using his drawings around 9 pm.
"Since you're the one who finished the drawings, let me handle the video editing." I offered while I was fixing my things, ready to go home.
"Okay. But we still have to record the song for the MV. When will you be available?"
"This Saturday, I guess? But why? Did you forget that I don't know how to play the guitar? I won't be able to help you."
He laughed softly before answering, "It's not about the guitar, I'll be playing it so don't you worry. What you'll do is you're going to sing."
My eyebrows shot up in surprise, "Oh no no no no no."
"Yes yes yes yes yes."
"Aiden!"
"Daina!"
"Ugh! You know I can't sing! You're the singer between us."
He shook his head, clicked his tongue, and raised his index finger to say 'no'. "I know that you can sing. I heard you and you have a beautiful voice."
It is my turn to shake my head in disagreement, "No, it's not beautiful. I sound like a frog. Did you actually hear me sing?"
He threw his head back, laughing. "What frog sounds like an angel when singing? If you don't sing, then let's forget about this project."
I stood up and squared my shoulders, "What do you mean? We've come this far!"
"Exactly! All that's left to do is sing the song I've written." He smiled proudly and I stood there for a minute arms-crossed, glaring at him and thinking what to do next.
He reached for my hand, chuckling. "Okay, here's the deal. Why don't we sing it together? You sing the first verse, I do the second, and both of us for the chorus?"
