"I can't believe I'm leaving for college tomorrow," I whined. "I thought that's what you wanted a few weeks back," Callie accused. "I know, but that was before Kayden and I reconciled. Right now things are so great between us and I can't imagine how I'm going to adjust from being with him everyday to not being with him at all," I lamented. "I wish there is something we could do about it," I sighed placing my note books into my back pack. "I know he will come up with something," Callie consoled. "I know but I don't want to get my hopes high, I know his job here is so demanding and I don't want to stress him harder," I groaned. "You could just drop school and be with him," Callie giggled. "Are you insane, dad would kill me." I said laughing. "What are the two most beautiful ladies doing?" Kayden interrupted. "What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be at work?" I asked puzzled. "You are leaving tomorrow and there is no other place in the world I do rather be than here with you my princess," he said kissing my forehead. "You guys are so much in love it's disgusting," Callie commented. "You're just jelous," I said chuckling. "Whatever, I should get going before you guys lose it," she said running off. "Callie!" I warned. "Princess," kayden said smiling. "Love!" I muttered. "What should we do for your last night?" He asked. "We don't have to do anything, your mum already told me you have loads of work to do since you might be away from work for sometime and I really do love to spend my last night with you but I will never let you drop your duties for me," I said. "I can always catch up with work later you know. I'll do the load I had to do now later after we hang out, please?" He begged. "No, I don't want you working late and I don't want you dropping your duties," I stated. "Harley, it not like I can't handle it." He whined. "Ok let's make a deal, I go with you to work and I spend the night beside you as you work. How is that?" I asked. "That's not fun at all, I want us to..." he said before I interrupted. "It's either that or you get out," I mumbled. "ok, fine," he sighed in defeat. "Get ready, I'll be waiting for you in the car," he said. "I'm ready," I smirked. "You are?" He asked puzzled. "Yes, why?" I asked.
"Nothing, it's just that I'm going to be distracted. How on earth am I supposed to work with you when you are putting on those damn shorts. You look so hot and I bet I'll do anything constructive," he said chuckling.
***
"Wow, your office is really beautiful." I muttered dreamily. "You love it?" He inquired. "Of course not more than the owner." I said shyly. "If you really want me to work then you had better stopped flirting with me." He said his voice raspy with lust. "Fine, I will just sit here and watch you work." I said taking a seat in front of him. Several minutes past and none of us said a thing. I simply let my gaze travel around the room taking in his beautiful furniture and design. He really has a good taste. "I bet our house will be this beautiful," I thought. "Behave little girl, you're fantasizing too much. Who said you would be his wife?" I scolded myself. I felt bored after an hour and Kayden was so absorbed in his work. I wondered if I could go take a trip around but I didn't want to distract him so I remained there watching him intensely as he searched through papers and typed. It was such a beautiful sight that I forgot I was bored and I wanted to get a destruction. He was the real distraction I needed. I could watch him all day without getting bored. "How did I get so lucky?" I wondered. "He is really hot," I muttered unconsciously. "You said something?" He asked raising his eyebrows. "Holy shit," I mumbled. I could feel myself blushing and it was super embarrassing. "Not really," I said blushing. "Then stop staring at me like that," he said getting back to his work. "Oh my God, I really need to leave this room." I mentally slapped myself. The atmosphere in this room was not good for my health and the man seated infront of me was definitely trouble. "Stop staring at me like you want me," he whispered into my ear. "Holy mother, stop sneaking on me like that. You scared me," I accused. I could feel myself getting angry at him for playing games with me, "are you a ghost or something?" I blurted. And I felt like I could die from embarrassment once the words were out. "A ghost?" He laughed. "I mean how did you cross over to here without me noticing?" I corrected. "I walked when someone was fantasising about me, no rocket science." He teased. "You think it's funny, don't you?" I warned. "Relax, I'll get you something to eat. What do you want. Basically I would recommend some icecream because it cools down those unfriendly homornes that might have developed from being in such confined space with a hot guy," he smirked. "You are a jerk," I stated. "You love me anyways," he said stepping out leaving me alone and confused. "Damn, I'm so attracted to that guy it's terrifying," I muttered.
"What am I going to do without you?" He asked once we were in his room. "I don't know," I sighed squatting closer into his embrace. "I wish I could go to any college around here, I wish I could just drop everything and be with you. I wish it didn't have to be this hard for us," I mumbled. "Relax princess, I'm sure I'm going to come up with something that's going to make things better for us," he said playing with my hair. "Really," I screeched my face lighting up. "I was not sure but I do anything to see that glitter in your eyes." He said. "Now you have to rest, you have a long drive tomorrow," he added. "Can you drive me to college tomorrow?" I asked hopefully. "I'm really sorry but I have a very important meeting, but I promise I'm going to make it up to you," Kayden said kissing my hair. "Ok, goodnight. I love you so much," I said placing a light kiss on his lips. "I love you too princess," he sighed.
***
"Lara guess what," I shrieked. "You and Kayden are married?" She joked. "Silly not that, but we got back together and things are super hot between us. It's like we fell in love all over again." I giggled. "I'm really happy for you guys, how did it happen?" She asked. "You know after the wedding I remained at Skylar's," I started narrating giving her all the details. "And then he picked me up after the concert because he couldn't resist me anymore," I giggled shyly. "I love you guys, your story is so funny but so alluring. I do give up my everything just to get a guy like Kayden," she said. "It's ok to wish as long as you don't touch him," I joked. "He isn't that hot," she fired back. "Hey, hey, I saw you drooling the first time you saw him," I accused. "You were definitely hallucinating, I can only drool for my baby boy," she said winking. "You mean the one who only had time for video calls or you got another one," I said laughing. "I'm actually letting him go," she sighed. "Why?" I asked concerned. "I don't feel like he is into me. You know how he is always acting so busy. I know he is busy but he exaggerates the whole thing. I honestly love him a lot but I'm not settling for anything less than I feel like I deserve. You know this holiday has been so long but we only talked like twice and the whole time he sounded Iike I was bothering him." She said. I could see that she was really hurting. I knew just how much she loved him and I still remember how they talked the very first day I met her as my roommate. It was crystal clear that they were madly in love but I discovered that they drifted apart as time went on. I was so absorbed in my own troubles that I didn't know my friend was hurting. She was supporting me through my heart breaking moments while she was going through hell too. I do pay a billion dollars for such an amiable friend. "Have you tried talking to him yet?" I asked. "It's no use Harley, don't worry about me. I have made up my mind. Actually there is this guy who is really nice to me and we have gone on a couple of dates, I think I'll work better with him." She said smiling. "You're definitely telling me more about him." I said sniggering.
"Wow, Ellie you look stunning." I said. "You look great too, I see my guy has been talking care of you," he chuckled. "Ellie!" I scolded. "Sorry, I was just commenting." He said defending himself. "You're not allowed to comment," I grumbled. "Whatever, how was your holiday?" He asked. "You definitely know how it was, I don't have to tell you about it again," I said. "I know but I mostly know the beginning part, once things got fine you abandoned us," he teased. "I know, I'm sorry. Everyone has been blaming me for that. Actually I really need to talk to Sherry. She made this happen and I have to thank her and apologise for the way I left." I stated. "You will talk to her, you know she is the nicest. She will forgive you in no time," Ellie said. "How come you know her so well?" I asked teasingly. "Wait, are you cheating on my childhood best friend?" I added. "You know me better than that Harley, I would never do that to my world." He smirked. "You know what, that doesn't suit you," I lamented. "What doesn't suit me?" He asked frowning. "That lovey-dovey thing, it's gross," I said gagging. "You lost the power to foresee what suits me and what doesn't," he said laughing when I feigned hurt.
"What's our first class?" I asked Ellie after we were done with breakfast. "I don't know, I'll just ask someone." He said. "You were not this irresponsible," I accused. "Love," he sighed. I couldn't stop laughing. That was the most silly excuse I had ever heard.
We had to take seats that were far apart since we arrived late. We had to bump into different classes till we found ours. We had hardly settled into class when I received a note from Ellie. I frowned at him and shook my head. "No way," I whispered once I read the note. "Leah is coming back to settle here." I searched for my notepads and wrote back. "When, you are so evil. How could you keep this from me. Actually how could she. I'm killing both of you." That first class was totally a waste of time because all we did was send notes. "Can't you just use texts," one guy had whined. And I could see the displeased faces of our neighbors. We had to switch to texts before someone tore one of the notes in my face.
"Why did we even come to class today," I giggled once the day was done. "We did a lot of nothing, I'm actually surprised none of the professors sent us out," I added. "It's all your fault," Ellie accused. "Hell no, it's your fault. You're the one who didn't tell me that Leah was coming back here," I accused. "I wanted to tell you but you and Kayden couldn't get your hands off each other," he said laughing. "You know that's not right," I whined. "It's right," Sherry complemented. "Sherry," I screeched hugging her. "I'm really sorry for everything and thank you so much. You know I normally act without thinking," I mumbled. "I know, you and Skylar are trouble and most times I have to act without warning you because you two are kids," she said laughing. "Yes mom," I teased. "We really have so much catching on to do," I sighed. "Ellie we shall cut class tomorrow right?" I asked hopefully. "Yes, it's not like we are doing anything serious there. We shall catch up tomorrow. I'll leave you to patch things up with Sherry. You owe her something big," he said giggling. "You don't have to rub it in my face, believe me when I say that I know." I lamented.
"So what did you tell Kayden?" I asked Sherry. "I told him everything and he talked to me. I knew one of us had to act mature and quit playing games and I knew none of you could do so I stepped in. I threatened to kick his ass if he didn't pick him self up and man up. So when you came home again, I told him it's the perfect time to act. I gave him the address and it turns out that's the exact thing you two stubborn creatures needed." She said shaking her head in disbelief. "You're so cute," I said grinning. "Whatever, get me a drink." Sherry said. "Yes mom," I giggled. I knew how much she hated it when we called her mum but we did it anyways to plague her.
***
"Don't be mad at me princess, please." Kayden pleaded. I'm really so mad at him. It's been two weeks now and he had been so busy that we only talked twice. If I could even call it talking because it was so brief. Here he is in my room pleading and using those eyes he knows I can't deny promising to make it up to me. He is using my weakness against me and it's not fair. "That's not fair," I accused. "What's not fair beautiful," he smirked. "Stop it," I warned. "Stop what princess," he beamed breathing against my neck. Damn, I hate this guy. "Ok fine," I sighed. "Does that mean I'm forgiven?" He says grinning. "You corrupted me," I accused. "Really, you mean like this." He said nibbling on my ear. I closed my eyes and savored the moment as my breath started quickening. "Stop it," I managed to say after a while of enduring so much teasing. "What were you doing that kept you so busy?" I asked breathlessly. "I was coming coming up with the best proposal and figuring out where our home would be after I'm done proposing." He said playing with my hair unconciously. "I'm serious by the way," I said. "I know, that's what I was doing." He said pulling me onto his lap. "Stop messing with me," I breathed. "I'm not messing with you Harley, I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want us to be together every step of the way. I'm going to make you my wife," he muttered kissing my forehead. "Oh my God" I felt my mind spinning and my heart fluttering. We were always bantering about the whole proposal thing and now he is sounding so serious. "What if he is really serious? Am I ready for that? What about my dreams?" I pondered. "You bluffing right?" I asked hopefully. "Got you," he said giggling. "Games aside, I'm really serious. I'm going to propose to you," he whispered kissing my nose.
***
"Mum, what are you doing here?" I asked running into her embrace. "Isn't a mother supposed to visit her daughter?" She asked playfully. "Of course she is but you didn't even tell me you were coming," I accused. "Does it matter?" She fired back. There was this glow about her and I knew it was always there when something is fishy. I searched the place to see if there is something unusual. I had to revisit my calendar mentally but it was not my birthday and it was not Kayden's. "Why did I feel like something is fishy?" I wondered. "What?" She asked innocently. "Mum, what's this about?" I asked narrowing my eyes. "Stop over thinking and go shower, Callie and I will be up in no minute to help you dress up," She said waving me off leaving immediately before I could ask why I needed to shower. Once I was in my room, I tried to call all my friends but there phones were off, "what the fuck is going on?" I wondered. Something caught my eye and I went to check what it was. It was a receipt from a jeweller and it was in Lara's stuff. "Why would Lara be purchasing a ring?" I pondered. I gave up on wondering why since nothing made sense. Maybe it was for one of her friends. But she has been so busy this week and so rare just like the others. "Harley, you haven't showered yet!" Mum exclaimed. "I'm sorry mum, was just figuring out a few things. I'll be quick, I promise." I said handing her the receipt. I saw her features flinch with panic and worry but she collected herself immediately. "Wow, seems your friend is taking things to the next level," she said raising the receipt. "Its nothing I know about, maybe it's just for someone," I shrugged.
"Wow, you look so appealing baby." My mum said. I could see tears forming in her eyes and I wondered why she was being so emotional. I really felt gorgeous though, I was dressed in a pitch two piece gown. It hugged me perfectly all the way and it toned lovingly with my skin. It fell loosely on my shoulders displaying my enticing neckline. Whatever function we were going to, this was some elegant attire. My hair was styled into an updo with light make up. "You are so beautiful Harley," Callie muttered. "Just like you," I chuckled. A light knock followed and we were summoned to the car by my dad. This is when I realized that none of them was dressed casually. "Whose party are we going to?" I asked. They all just chuckled and blushed it off changing the topic.
"Dad, isn't this an art something?" I asked pertubed when he parked. "Are we here for an art exhibition?" I asked. No one bothered to answer. "Will someone just tell me what's going on?" I whined extremely agitated. "Watch your tone little girl," my dad warned. "Sorry dad, I'm just freaking out and desperate," I mumbled.
I remained quiet as we walked through the building and we branched off to some isolated room, it was decorated and I was taken aback when I spotted Skylar, Sherry, Lara, Ellie, Leah and other guys. "What's going on?" I asked Callie. "Please," I begged. I'm very sure I was sounding pathetic but I was really impatient. I hated situations when I didn't know what was going on. Callie laughed in my face and I swear I could kill her. "Patience," she chuckled. Skylar handed me some weird machine and my confusion was written all over my face. "Go on girl," she said laughing. "Go over there," Callie commanded. I walked over to where I saw a cloth hanging and I slightly pulled it away and I felt myself melt as my knees buckled underneath me. "Fuck," I muttered. I was over whelmed by emotions and I was too bewildered to do it say anything. Kayden's naked back was turned to me and I couldn't stop tears from flowing when I read the words on his back. "Will you marry me Harley?
🔲 Yes
🔲no" I turned around to see all those cheerful faces screaming yes. I didn't even notice that I had dropped the machine that was given to me as I traced out the words that were written on his smooth delicate warm skin. Everything made sense now, why this looked like an art gallery. It is a damn tattoo parlour and the machine I'm holding right now is the gun. There is no way I'm using this on Kayden's skin. I have no tattoos for sure but I'm sure this thing hurts. Callie handed the gun to me but I declined. "You're saying no?" she asked worriedly. "Of course it's a yes, but I'm not insane enough to use this stupid machine on him. I even have know idea how it's operated." I said. Kayden stood and turned to me, I felt my heart flutter with warmth. I silently thanked God for blessing me with such an amazing guy. He is everything I ever wanted. He knelt down and fished out a small case which contained a precious delicate ring with a huge diamond. It looked so expensive and it must have cost him so much. I gasped even though I already knew he was going to do this. It was such a sight, him on one knee, shirtless holding an engagement ring. I'm needed some air, I fanned my face and everyone burst out laughing. I had to struggle to keep my hands to myself because God he had a nice body before but his features are so highlighted and toned now. He must have understood what I'm thinking about because he smirked. He stood up briefly and whispered, "just say yes and you will get to know how my skin feels." "Your such a flirt," I blurted feeling embarrassed and blushing uncontrollably.
"Harley, nothing matters if your not in my life. I have lived without you once and I know how it feels. I don't want to feel that ever again. I know you're still in college but I really want to spend the rest of my life with you. You are so beautiful, intelligent, loving, strong, caring. You are simply everything. You are my world Harley. I know I'm not worthy of your love, but please give me a chance to spend the rest of my life trying to make it up to you. I promise I'll take care of you. Harley, will you marry me?" He said softly. I had never felt so much love for anyone before. Yesterday I was sure I didn't want to get so serious in the relationship since I had so many dreams to fullfil but right now I feel like none of that matters. I feel like as long as I'm with Kayden, I could forego anything. I do sail the world to find him incase he was stuck in the middle of the sea. Yes, that's how much I love him. "Yes," I hissed placing my left hand in his so he could place the ring on my finger. I helped him up and I hugged him tightly kissing him briefly before I showed off my ring. "Can you please get dressed?" I said. "Why? Are you finding it hard to keep your hands to yourself?" He teased. "Of course not, I just don't like how some girls are looking at you." I said. "My fiancee is jelous?" He teased. "Just put on the damn shirt," I whined. "Of course I'll, I don't want to upset my fiancee but you have to fill the gap on my back," he said winking. "You know I could never hurt you," I said pushing back the gun. "Then I'll just attend the rest of the party shirtless, I can use those gazes to my advantage. They can caress my ego pretty well." He said beaming. "Fine, just tell me how to operate this thing." I whined. Everyone applauded once I was done choosing yes. "I can't believe you came up with such a messed up way to propose. You know tattoos are permanent right?" I asked. "Of course I do. Are you planning on leaving me someday?" He asked looking a little hurt. "Of course not, I just wonder how you came up with that." I said placing a brief kiss on the tattoo. "I didn't think too much, I thought about something that would be permanent and that crossed my mind. It will always be there to remind you how much you mean to me and how much I love you," he said chuckling. "Of course I can't forget how much you love me because I love you that much too and you are everything to me though I can't deny that that tattoo gives me a zoo of butterflies in my stomach. I felt my stomach flipping when I first saw it. You are so unbelievable and silly," I said grinning. "But you love me anyway," he said crushing his lips on mine.
