Moving In

Blair's POV.

I watched as the mystery boy walked into a dorm with a phoenix painted in red, orange and yellow on the black door. "I guess he's in Phoenix Hall," I thought. The three of us walked up to the door and I grabbed the crystal glass door knob and opened the door. I walked in and stopped dead in my tracks. The hall was breathtaking. Lush black carpet with red, orange and yellow swirls went down the entire hallway. At the end was an elevator next to the stairs. To the right was a desk with a woman sitting at it. She had papers, pens and a whole bunch of other items. "That must be Alex, the dorm monitor," I said quietly to Jonah and Olivia. Alex looked up as we walked over.

"Hi guys!" she said with a bright smile. "Welcome to Phoenix hall. I'm Alex, the dorm monitor. Who are you three?" I smiled "Hi Alex. I'm Blair Willows, this is my brother Jonah Willows and my best friend Olivia King." I said. Alex went back to her desk and started sifting through papers. I watched as she pulled out three pens and three papers and started marking on them. Alex then looked at us and handed us each a paper. "Please sign these and answer any questions that have an X by them." She gave us all clipboards and waited as we filled out the forms. I couldn't help but wonder where the boy I saw was.

I finished signing the papers and gave the clipboard, pen and the form back to Alex. A few seconds after, Jonah and Olivia followed suit. Alex looked up at us smiling. "Well you three are all in the same room. I hope you don't mind, but this was extremely last minute. You three have a new roommate. His name is Payton Drake. I know you all should have been notified because your parents paid extra for the biggest dorm we have, but because there was an extra slot in your room and nowhere else, we put him with you three. He should be up there already."

"Oh, it's not a problem. I think Jonah will enjoy having a guy roommate more than having two girls all the time." I said with a smile. Alex smiled and handed us each a key with a Phoenix key cover on it. "These keys are for your dorm room and match with your tack room that your parents asked for. In your dorm, there will be three folders, one for each of you. Please take a look at them to find out the times for your testing and school schedule. That's pretty much it, so you three can go ahead up to floor 5. Your room is the only one up there. The floor has a balcony that is for everyone in the dorm to share but your room has a private one for you and your roommates only."

We all nodded throughout her speech and walked to the elevator. We called it down and pushed button 5. We walked out of the elevator and saw the exact same carpet as downstairs and noticed that there was a single door at the end of the hallway. Right as you walk out, there's two glass doors that open up to the balcony. We walked past the doors down to our room and I unlocked the door. Pushing it open I gasped. The wooden floors were polished and sleek under my feet. There was a 60" TV hanging on the wall across from a black three-seater couch and two dark blue recliners. There was a white rug on the floor, making the room feel bigger. The walls were a gorgeous light blue. I looked towards the other side of the room and saw a HUGE kitchen and dining room. "Perfect place for me to make breakfast." I thought to myself. I saw 6 doors in total as I looked down the hallway in the room. "Damn, this place is huge. Our rooms must be down the hallway." I said.

Jonah looked at me and took off, trying to find his room. I followed behind him and saw the rooms had names on the outside of them. The first door on the left said "Jonah" in fancy script. right across the hallway from him was Olivia, her name in the same fancy font. I kept walking and saw that I was across the hall from Payton on the right side.

I pushed open my door and to my shock, it looked almost exactly like my room back home. There was a feature wall painted purple and the rest were white, giving the room a larger feel, the floor was carpeted with a plush dark purple color, the bed is queen sized with purple and black sheets, HUGE windows were placed strategically around the room, letting in the most natural light possible, there were two doors next to each other, one must lead to a bathroom and the other to my closet, there was a dresser along the wall and a few bookshelves. Finally, there was a black desk and a few picture frames with pictures of horses were hung around the room. I pulled my two suitcases into my room and went back out to grab the 6 boxes of my things and brought those into my room as well.
