Blair's POV.
I sat in the back of my parents limo with my two favorite people in the entire world. Even though I was feeling like a total third wheel as my brother and his girlfriend cuddled up in the back seat right next to me. My parents, being my parents, didn't bother going with us, claiming that it wouldn't "be proper for them to be seen anywhere else but the country club or work" The three of us sat on the U-shaped couch in the back, watching movies the entire way there and just being our normal un-stuck up selves. Jonah, my younger twin brother, and Olivia, my best friend in the entire world, have always been with me. Olivia, at a very young age, lost her parents in a plane crash. She lived with her aunt and uncle before she met me at Ellington Stables. Ever since then, she's been living with me and my family. Her and Jonah got together two years ago, and I've never seen either of them so.. full of life. Not even when I told them we had gotten accepted into Blue Springs Riding Academy, or the time when I told Olivia that she was moving in with me almost 5 years ago.
Seeing them together makes me happy because they're happy. However, I've never had time for boy's in my life. Unless you count the countless hook-up's that I've had. God, my middle school years were absolutely crazy. I had to have gotten a new boyfriend at least every week, if not every other day. None of them dated me because they liked me. It was all because of my tomboy/bad girl reputation that I had at school and of who my parents were. Mr. and Mrs. Willows, the richest people on the entire East Coast of America. My dad owns an internet company and my mom is the most sought after law attorney on the East Coast. Both of them bring home at least 10 grand or more each pay-check.
I sighed, breaking myself out of my memory and sinking down into the cool leather couch. I looked out the window in shock as we pulled into the parking lot at school. I guess I was lost in my head for over 7 hours. Time sure flies by when you're not paying attention. Our driver parked and got out of the car as we all put the blankets and wrappers away. My parents, who are so stuck up they couldn't come say goodbye to their kids, absolutely hate it when the limo's get trashed. Which is exactly why we always put our wrappers into the mini fridge and on top of the blankets.
I ran my fingers through my jet black hair and looked at myself in the mirror. My ocean blue eyes looked back at me as I smiled at myself through my natural pale pink lips, revealing my pretty smile. My small silver hoops hung from my ear and my left hand clutched my new phone, the only thing I'd ever gotten from my parents as a "be safe." I took a deep breath and thought about my horse that I got 3 years ago. His name is Titan, but his show name is Absolute Zero and he's amazing. His dappled coat is a brilliant color of grey, the exact color of silver. His tail is a mixture of black and silver, giving him a majestic look to him. Titan. Just thinking about him makes me smile. I followed Jonah and Olivia out of the limo and looked around for the trailer that held my beautiful horse. (Credit for some horses goes to cxntering. Thank you sm for letting me use some names!)
My parents thought that the horses would need to be pampered before they got here, so instead of taking them in one of the Ellington trailers like they were supposed to be, my parents hired a horse mover. (This is a real thing. Don't believe me, look it up) Supposedly, the people they hired were really good, but I didn't trust them. They got to Blue Springs a few hours before we did. I got a notification on my phone from them, because my parents gave them my number if anything went wrong.
I looked around and spotted the dark blue trailer in the parking lot. Every parking space is big enough for a trailer and car to fit in, due to the fact that most people bring their own horses to school. "Guys I found the trailer. Let's go grab the horses and get them settled." I said. "Cool. We're right behind you sis." Jonah said. We walked over to the trailer and I knocked on the driver-side door. The driver rolled the window down and asked "May I help you miss?" in a polite southern accent. "Yes sir. You brought three horses here for the Willows. I'm the daughter you got the phone number of." I said, holding up the message for him to see. He nodded his head and grabbed a set of keys from the dash. I backed away from the door so he could get out. He walked around to the back and put the key in the lock. Asking Jonah for a hand, they both lowered the back of the trailer, revealing Titan, Duchess and Flame, or Dancing in a Ring of Fire.
The three of us walked onto the trailer and grabbed our respective horses. Duchess, being closest to the door, was backed down the ramp by Olivia and Jonah followed her with Flame. I was still trying to calm Titan down from the ride. Normally when we go to a show, it's only a few hours away, not 23 hours across the States. I could tell he was a little mad at me because I wasn't there during his ride like normal. I turned him toward the ramp and led him down, joining Olivia and Jonah. The three of us walked our horses towards the stable. Titan, being around 19 hands high, (6 foot 3 inches), was the tallest of the three. Flame, 18 hands, (6 feet), and Duchess, 16 hands (5 feet, 3 inches)
The horse movers followed behind us, each of them carrying one of the horses tack boxes. I looked at the barn, surprised by the size. In total, there are 4 barns. One for the new arrivals or beginner teams. One for intermediate teams, one for advanced and YENT and one for foaling. We went into barn one, for new arrivals and put our horses in stalls at the very back. We put our tack boxes in the stalls with them, in a corner for safety. We've done this so much that the horses know not to soil them. We would be tested in 2 days to figure out what team we're going to be riding on. All three of us were on the YENT team at Ellington, and we were the only members of the team to have sayed on for more than a year. We walked out back to the limo, thanked the drivers and grabbed our suitcases. The three of us were in the same room at the very top of the newest dorm, Phoenix Hall.
The three of us walked towards the dorm halls...........and that's when I saw him.
This is gonna be a long year.
