My mind could barely comprehend it, gazing into the mirror. My eyes fixated upon the majestic beast before me. A wolf, as silver as the moonlight. My heart gave a great lurch.
Far away, I could faintly hear my mother calling me for dinner, her voice and clanging bell harshly clashing with the beautiful melodies of the forest. My heart beat again, thrumming in my ears.
My mother... Amelia Lockheart. Often called the Belle of her time, her smile charmed many a man. Ba-dump, my heart went again. The only obstacle for those men to sweep my mother into her arms is my father. Ba-dum. James Lockheart. Whom in his own right much of the world considered him charming.
Ba-dum. Gazing into the wolves kind eyes, I longed to bury my face in its fur and run away into the wonderful world I could see behind it. Ba-dum. My parents were cursed with a child such as myself. Who am I? You ask. Joy. Joy Lockheart is my name. Curses and cruelness I bring upon all those I encounter. Ba-dum. Not intentionally. But bad luck follows me wherever I go. Though part of me knows that in the wolves world no curse shall follow. Ba-dum. At last I take a step, then another, blood rushing in my ears. I break through the mirror, and into the world of the wolves.
