Story about what happened to Kloof the dog before she met Hal
Maybe start with the crew cruising across the sea and pondering that question
'Hal gently stroked Kloof's head, regarding the large dog with a fond expression,
'"You're right Stig. It would be interesting to find out Kloof's story..."'• Father: Champion dog fighter or sled dog
• Mother: always won agility shows
• "Sadie" as Kloof's original name?
• Kloof is born into a small farming community in Araluen
• Kloof is runt of litter, no one wants to buy the scrawny pup
• "Tark" or "Arik" Butcher boy (whose mother died) takes pity and buys her with a meager 2 coins, a price that the owner, worried that no one would buy her, gracious accepts
• Kloof grows big and strong with meat scraps
• Boy is killed by some freak accident
• Father kicks kloof out and she runs away
• "Jork" "Norik" "Tom" "Throk"
• "Tuma" "Edith" "April"
• "Leslie" "Sessel"
• Kloof has many adventures and saves a boy from drowning in a remote village whilst he was trying to illegally fish (refer to Book 1 for notes on poaching)
• Raiders come and steal kloof, sell her to gypsys (possible mention of Sable?)
• She escapes and somehow gets to Skandia,
• Keep in mind that she is only 3-4 years old
• Bernese mountain dog
• Eventually she is in the mountains
• Also explain how she learnt to respond to certain commands
• Mention her chewing problem
• Explain how she learnt how to hunt - scorpion mountain notes
• Look at map
• Near the end, Kloof is in tbe mountain with a huntress, who she saved from a bear, and gets lost in a blizzard
• Merchant ship protector, explains how she got to Skandia
• Saved young boy & girl in storm, sheltering them like a rescue dog
• Ends with the scene where she finds Hal (4th Book)
