You'd known Touya Todoroki (who now goes by the name 'Dabi' with anyone but you) since you were both children.

Your parents were skilled inventors, tasked with the personal care of all of the flame hero Endeavour's upgrades and support gear and so you spent a lot of time around the Todoroki's... enough to catch on to the instability of their home life and aggressive nature of their father.

When your parents died you were taken in by them and were fully exposed to the cruelty that befell the children.

Throughout your time there you and Touya grew especially close, close enough that when he couldn't take it anymore you insisted on leaving with him.

The two of you had stuck by each other ever since, your relationship morphing into one of romantic nature as you grew up.

You didn't join Touya in his 'villainy', choosing instead to get a job to sustain you both and supporting him emotionally when times got tough, that was the only thing you could really do with your quirk and you didn't have the heart for violence.

When he joined the league they all just accepted you as his sort of caretaker and you mostly only dropped by the hideout when he decided to sleep there.

He never actually told you this but you could tell that he felt responsible for you, like you'd thrown any chance of having a meaningful life away for him and so, he was very protective over you.

"Tou-ahh I mean Dabi?"

"Yeah" he hummed looking down at you as you kneeled in front of him on the bed

"Do you have to go today? You could always just-"

"But it's gonna be so dangerous and-"

"I'll be fine. Stop asking about it" he growled, clearly getting agitated by your nagging
