I had barely arrived at the party and I had already been laughed at. Angel was beautifully dressed as an angel yet her expression was demonic as she took pleasure from my embarrassment. "Who dresses up as a ghost with an actual bedsheet?" she laughed scandalously. Well apparently I did since I was the ghost under a white sheet.

Her silly friends were about to throw me out when Scottson threw an arm over her shoulder and charmed her into giving me to him. When the demon had left, Scottson's arm found itself over my shoulders. "What do you want?" I asked. "I felt for ghostly company," he smiled. "Angel is too much at times. Besides you're too pretty to be under that sheet." I think he saw me roll my eyes because he laughed. I still accepted his invitation to remain in his company. It was his party anyway.

Scottson gave me a pair of fairy wings, a wand and cat ears. I looked pointedly at him and he laughed. "You're a cat fairy." he replied. I rolled my eyes again and walked away but he caught up with me and began introducing me to his friends. Honestly, I am not sure how I managed to be so cool. The only reason I had come to this party was to see Scottson. I wore that stupid costume just to get in through the front door and here I was chatting and smiling with him at his own party like normal. It all just became too surreal for me and I left without saying goodbye. My best friend said I was an idiot. I agreed with her but it all felt too easy. Something had to be wrong and I was scared of how much I admired him.

I had a week to hide at home since it was a holiday week. I was sure he would forget me and then I could move on. When he turned up outside my mother's bakery with a bouquet two days later I was shocked. He handed them to me and politely yet firmly asked, "Why did you ghost me?" "You don't know me." "You beat me in Bio last year. You've got a great voice so I know you'll win the Nationals and you roll your eyes beautifully. After last night I know you're fun. I want to learn more." I accepted the bouquet and a date. It's been six months since then. I discovered that Scottson was a reliable, trustworthy and honest person. I'm not exactly sure what he likes about me, but we're inseparable now and Scottson always calls me his friendly ghost.
