Gazing at Zen’s sleeping figure, Marceline’s worried eyes searched for any sign of awareness in Zen’s feature which she found none, he hadn’t woken up since the last time he talked with them.
“It’s time we went,” Damien announced, getting Marceline’s attention, she sighed and got up then walked out the house where she found her uncle waiting.
“Good luck,” Clyde said as Marceline nodded at him and so did Damien before the two of them took their leave; the two vampires crossed the trees in silence as it didn’t take them more than five hours to reach the hill.
“There it is,” Marceline said as she looked at a distant old and lonely house on top of the hill as a small trail guided the way towards it.
“Wait, I sense magic around the area. It looks like there are some traps here as Sir Clyde said,” Damien made a note as they looked around but saw nothing, they followed the trail but stopped immediately when they sensed the magic grew more powerful from the ground, how were they supposed to pass the traps?
“We don’t have a choice but to risk it,” Marceline said and stepped on one of the traps before backing away with her sword in her hands, the place was silent. But as the pair was about to relax, the ground started shaking and a magical beast that looked like an enormous bat with arms and legs but without wings, the bat looked at the vampires and dashed its hand towards them with a loud cry. Marceline and Damien moved out the way and the two of them climbed into the bat’s shoulder using its already stretched arm then ran towards its neck where they found no problem with slashing its neck but the bat didn’t fall down as its arm moved to slap them, the two were shocked but quickly dodged and landed on the ground. The bat cried again and charged on them as the young woman and man caused the creature some wounds but it refused to die.
“Why aren’t we able to kill this beast?” Marceline asked.
“Because it is made of magic obviously,” a voice of an old man shouted from the front door of the house. Marceline and Damien looked at the old man and immediately recognized him as the wizard.
“If you are not able to defeat this magical monster, you better get back to where you came from,” Ganandorf said with a smile as if he was sure that they can’t kill the beast, Marceline turned her eyes to look at the bat thinking before a sudden realisation got into her mind.
“Marceline?” Damien looked at her with a raised eyebrow as she walked towards the beast. The bat growled and tried to grab her but due to Marceline’s speed and strength; she avoided the attack and used her sword to reflect the sun lights directly towards the bat’s eyes, the bat groaned and roared in pain before it finally dropped down and turned into a rock that was destroyed into pieces.
“This kind of monster hates looking directly at the sunlight, even the slightest,” Marceline said after she had dropped on the ground, the wizard stared at her with surprise as well as Damien but the young man had his eyes closed with a small smile.
“Now...We need your help that we have defeated your monster, Ganandorf,” Marceline said as she turned to look at the magician.
“And why should I help you even if you defeated one monster? There are plenty of monsters around the house,” Ganandorf asked.
“I’m here because a close person to me is suffering from a severe wound caused by a high ranked werewolf and we don’t how to help him, Clyde is my uncle and he told me to come and ask for your help,” Ganandorf stared at her for a moment before he grinned.
“Come in, I’ve already deactivated the traps,” the wizard said as he turned around to enter his house, Marceline and Damien followed behind. The house was in a mess as if a tornado had passed by there and had a weird smell around it, Ganandorf kept looking around while mumbling incomprehensible words.
