Marceline’s POV:

“Please uncle Clyde, I’m really feeling fine,” I pleaded the man who was forcing me to lie on the king-sized bed, “No, you are not fine for someone who was slammed against the ground so many times causing her head to bleed out,” he responded as he pushed me gently on the bed. It had been five days since I ascended the throne, during that week, uncle Clyde took care of reparation and other things while I was resting and healing from my injuries.

“But it has been a whole week since I was injured and my head is not hurting as much as before. I’m still surprised I survived that injury, though,” I said as my uncle pulled a blanket over me.

“I’m still surprised as well, but I wouldn’t be if I break your head right now unless you rest,” he threatened, which made me pout and frown and felt the urge to resist but he crossed his arms and spoke first.

“Or do you want me to get Walter here to give you another lecture about how reckless you have been?” He asked, causing me to zip my mouth and look away, “Thought so,” the brown-haired man said as he patted my shoulder before leaving the room, I sighed quietly and after a few minutes of boredom, I stood up to look out the window when my eyes landed on Walter giving instructions to servants around. He was happy when he got back to his original place as a butler in the castle, he had even cried when he saw my head bandaged along with my arms and face that had only a few scratches but mostly because I was still alive and managed to free Vamper.

I smiled at the sight and turned my head then I heard someone knocking on the door, “Enter,” I said giving permission to whoever was about to enter the room. It was Damien; he got in wearing his usual jet black outfit as he bowed slightly in front of me with his usual calm face.

“No need for formality when no one is around, Damien,” I said and smiled at him, a small smile appeared on his face before he started getting closer then gently examined my head.

“Looks like your wound is healed almost completely,” he stated, then rested his hand on my cheek, I could feel my blood traveling to my cheeks as they started to get hotter, and Damien’s eyes got softer as he caressed my cheek gently.

“You are beautiful,” he suddenly commented as my face burned and I could see his cheeks barely noticeable turn into a shade of pink. The door unexpectedly was knocked, I turned my head to look at the door before stuttering out, “E-Enter.”

“Sir Clyde asks for your presence, Sir Damien,” a guard who was a vampire said after he had bowed politely in front of us, Damien nodded and dismissed the guard before he turned to look at me with his calm and soft eyes, “You need to rest even if your wound is almost healed. Meanwhile, I’ll take my leave now, your highness,” he said, he took my hand kissing it delicately then walked out the room. I had stared at my hand for a few seconds before I sighed and went back to bed.

Two days later and my uncle finally allowed me to leave the bed as he told me that it was the day I would officially be announced as the queen of Vamper, Silia helped me wear a light dress that was as red as blood decorated with black and yellow flowers along with red long gloves that covered my whole arms which had dark red lines and yellow buttons, the dress was short from the front as it reached my thighs while its back was longer that it dropped on the ground. She then helped me style my long light-brown hair into wavy curls. I had thanked Silia before she left to join the others in the throne room.

My uncle transformed the place from a creepy looking place into a delicate good castle to live in, Once I had reached the doors leading to the throne room, the guards opened them for me as a man beside the entrance announced loudly to the people inside, “Her majesty has arrived,” the crowd containing vampires, werewolves and humans bowed to me as I started walking towards the throne which was red and black with a bat figure on its top, the room and throne had completely changed thanks to my uncle’s efforts, it didn’t have broken walls and ground nor blood splashed everywhere nor bones surrounding the throne itself anymore. I turned around once I had reached the throne to gaze at the crowd before me before my uncle came to me wearing a dark-blue luxurious outfit as he stood next to me.
